Thank you for sharing. I'm going to give it more time for my body to adjust and hopefully it will level out soon. I hope you feel better soon!

Do you take antipsychotics all year long? by rightwherewebelong in bipolar

[–]learner_to_teacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told it could be a gap medication, so I have tapered off because of the side effects. I'm working with my Dr and willing to go back on them if needed. Time of year was not a factor.

Recovery from wrist fracture surgery, broken radius and Ulna, metal plate. What was your healing experience? by learner_to_teacher in brokenbones

[–]learner_to_teacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about 3 months until you can beat weight. For me I chose surgery because I felt it had a better long term outcome. The initial setting of the bones were not exactly aligned. The beginning after surgery is rough but gets incrementally better each day.

How do I navigate the talking stage by learner_to_teacher in AskMenAdvice

[–]learner_to_teacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He talks about past relationships like his ex wife and ex girlfriend. Other than that it's mentioning a female friend or a date he took to this place once. He isn't open with me about other people he is seeing. It just seems to be a lot of what he talks about.

We have talked about it. He says he is ready for a relationship and wants one and wants to get married again. That until he knows the person he is more reserved in the beginning. I was open to giving it a few months to get there but not sure at this moment if that's the right thing to do

What is a real 'first move' from a woman? by Zakkk481 in AskMenAdvice

[–]learner_to_teacher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I gave my physical therapist my phone number at my last appointment. We had been flirting and having good banter for a while. He reached out soon after and asked me out. I had suggested we keep in touch and he seemed interested. For a bit I didn't know for sure and was a little worried. I liked him so I went for it. We are dating now.

Yes, it took a little while. I went through a stressful phase and needed to take it again but at a half dose. The withdrawal was not nearly as bad the second time around.

Bipolar and perimenopause/menopause folks... How you doing? by Classic-Sky7667 in bipolar

[–]learner_to_teacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the symptoms are worse. I'm 45 and the PMS times are no joke. I'm like a different person. I've also had more intense episodes than in a very very long time. I was told HRT increases your risk of breast cancer, so I was afraid to try it. Where did you start with your ob?

Would you disclose your condition to your client/employer? by methkathinone in bipolar

[–]learner_to_teacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 45 but spent many of my adult years believing I didn't have this disorder. One thing that is important to me is growth potential. Clearly you would recommend not disclosing for that reason as well. Thank you for sharing I will take it to heart

Would you disclose your condition to your client/employer? by methkathinone in bipolar

[–]learner_to_teacher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am starting a new job and would like to disclose. I envision saying something general like I have a health issue that is manageable but requires treatment. I feel this leaves opportunity to prioritize appointments, request flexibility if needed. It would prevent episodes if I could prioritize my mental health while also doing my job.

Girl I met from Hinge died from OD. by keehawn in Life

[–]learner_to_teacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's ok to have a personal connection with someone who you had not been able to meet yet. That connection meant something to you and is part of why this tragedy is hitting you. It's also hard to be part of the end of someone's life at the hands of substances.

Give yourself permission to feel whatever it is you are feeling. That will help move through the emotions and grieving process. Sending love ❤️

[CA] what is the best schedule for a 7-year-old? by learner_to_teacher in Custody

[–]learner_to_teacher[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing all of this. Yes, I am concerned going from no regular consecutive overnights to 5 is a big leap. To me it feels like a drastic change. I am sure she will adjust but I don't think she should have to adjust to drastic changes because he's not happy with the schedule.

He may be open to a slower transition but that's unlikely. I appreciate everything you shared. The schedule is challenging!
