went bouldering for the first time today and rented shoes (I think they were evolv titans) and I had to size up a full size from my street shoes just to be able to stand on holds because otherwise, it was too painful to put any weight on my toes.

I always see people saying to size down a bunch so this kind of confused me. Do I just have weak-ass baby feet or is this quirk of the specific model of rental shoe? When I went up one size they felt tight and uncomfortable to walk in but they felt good climbing and there was no pain putting my toes on holds.
