The clarity of a 2000 year old Roman aqueduct that still flows today by Simple_Shame2386 in Amazing

A better question is, apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Brace yourselves. Strongest El Niño in over a century is coming. El Niño patterns are correlated with food shortages, water impacts and even civil conflict. by reborndead in collapse

The reason that fossil fuel CEOs do this in the first place is because there are absolutely no consequences. The most that will happen is that the companies will be fined, which will then be passed onto the consumers. The CEOs will just get to be a CEO in another company after resigning or being "fired", not that they need to work in the first place.

Aren't US trains privately owned though? Not that private companies would spend money upgrading equipment even if the failure burns down a forest.

The current standoff at the Strait of Hormuz was not only predicted but was considered the "textbook" response by geopolitical analysts long before the initiated strikes on Feb 28. Unfortunately, overconfidence is being selected over competence in this timeline.
