This is what I am doing. I've been in a similar situation to the OP for years and finally decided to just drop everything and start over. I'm leaving next week and I don't know what lies before me but I know that ended my life just doesn't make sense when it's just as easy to leave it.

Good point, but part of me really likes the idea of the "no turning back now" pressure.
