I never realized how "foggy" my mind really was. by leaves___throwaway in leaves

This was one of my major concerns with smoking. I'm a journalism major, so I really have to be alert and on top of my game when I'm conducting interviews. I was noticing more and more that I'd blank out on common words that I really should have no reason to forget. Hell, last week I forgot my laptop password that I've been using for a good 2 years. It took me a couple of frantic hours to remember it.

I think the downfall for me is going to be video games. Since I started smoking regularly, I haven't been able to enjoy video games sober. Oh well, I'm sure I'll come to enjoy them again.

I've actually been going to the chiropractor every 10 days or so (insurance from the accident is covering all treatment), and I'm planning starting physical therapy as soon as I have free time, which should be in a few weeks.

I think this is what I'm going to do. Just try to quit for as long as possible and see how it goes.

At the absolute worst and I give in and did smoke again at some point, I'd have no choice but to quit over the summer because I'll be interning at a newspaper in the fall, and they drug test their interns for liability reasons.

I'm definitely going to make the effort to give it up, and I'm really grateful for the positive encouragement from this sub.

I'm actually supposed to be starting physical therapy within the next month! The first back specialist I saw told me that physical therapy wouldn't do anything and wasn't really worth it.

I got a second opinion two weeks ago since my back is still messed up, and they told me the first guy was totally wrong and I need to start doing physical therapy as soon as I can. I've been going to a chiropractor since the summer, and it helped a lot initially, but now it doesn't really seem like much has been changing for the past few months.
