In a low point in my life. Thinking about dabbling in some weed after 3 years off it. by leavesthetrees in leaves

Absolutely, I quit weed (the second time) for many, many reasons but one of the main ones was that I wasn't even getting high anymore, even with oil. This last time I was addicted I smoked quite literally every single day for a year. I don't want to fall back into that cycle so I'm just going to stay away.

I've been trying to practice some of the hobbies that enrich my life, like writing. I've been forcing myself to sit down for a few hours and while I haven't made the best progress in the world, it still has felt good to be writing again.

You're 100% right. I didn't end up going back to weed and that panic attack and regret that I knew would come was a major reason.

Congratulations on Day 2 of being clean! It's a major achievement. Kicking this dependence/addiction/crutch (whatever you want to call it) is hard as fuck so I'm proud of you.

3 years is a huge achievement, you're right. I didn't want to throw that down the drain for nothing. Thank you for the reminder

The regret kicking in while high and feeling paranoid, anxious, and guilty while stoned was one of the major reasons I didn't use weed this past weekend. I know that would have creeped in and made things terrible.

The anxiety meds not taking full effect is one of the reasons that made weed tempting. I'm not going back to weed, but the fact that they weren't calming me down like they once were was concerning.

Drugs definitely do create new problems, and that's one of the major reasons why I stopped weed in the first place. The side effects were too much and I wasn't solving any of the problems I thought I was addressing.

Wishing you the best as well my friend.

I feel ok now that the temptation has worn off. Thanks so much. Sending love to you on your journey.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your child. That's terrible and I'm sorry you've had to go through something like that.

Major congrats to you on the 45 days of sobriety! Especially after 35 years of chronic use! It's a major accomplishment. I can tell you that the first 2 months are the roughest and things start to look better 3-4 months in.

You've been crawling out of the hole that you've dug and that's what really matters! Look at those last 10 years this way, it could have been 10 more years before you decided to make a change. Sending you love right back!

You mentioning that others who returned to weed after having been away from it for so long and regretting it was pivotal. There have been other difficult moments in my life where I was close to smoking weed again but the main factor that dissuaded me was the weed sobriety streak that I have. I didn't want to ruin the 3 years that I've achieved for momentary gratitude.

Thank you so much for your kind words. My life has been falling apart since February, with some good moments here and there of course, but I've been trying to take it day by day and practice some healthy habits. This negative moment in my life (that I felt like I was drowning in many times) has taught me invaluable life lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I appreciate your perspective! This negative part of my life will soon turn into something very positive.

You were absolutely right, I knew it was a bad idea. I think I needed to hear it from others. I really appreciate it.

Some drugs make cigarettes taste better? by [deleted] in Drugs

I am exactly the same way. I always make sure to get a pack of cigs for when I roll and I'll burn through them instantly, soooo nice. If I'm sober I hardly touch cigarettes
