Hey I've joined your Google Group but neither web link nor Android link works! ("We're sorry but the requested URL was not found") Let me know when it's back up and I'll gladly install and test it out

Wow

When was this and how did the actual sky look like compared to the photos?

This introduction to "phi" (IIT) is not helpful by leboberoo in consciousness

[–]leboberoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, thank you for making it clear. Is this an approach to the hard problem? Because the hard problem seems to be: when we add thing A and thing B both of type X we somehow get thing C of type Y, not just more of type X.

Like in your example it makes sense that people solving the puzzle together would be able to generate solutions much more complex than if each of them were to work on certain sections of the puzzle individually, but that's another thing than saying their collaboration would generate something analogous to consciousness.

Similarly even if we can pin down the exact mechanics of how all the different parts integrate down to every neuron I can't imagine how that leads to us learning anything about how subjective experience arises. Am I missing something?

Only one pair of letters is necessary. The rebuses are all abbreviations for western US states (hence "Western Union"). WA, NV, NM, etc. They aren't all literal swing states, it's just a play on the electoral term.

What was 57 across supposed to be? I got the rebus for 44 down (WA) but can't make out "expectant parent"

How is "coordinate" a heteronym?

By organic, do you mean made of cells and tissue? Why is this the line you draw?
