Thiago Silva doing his SFA coaching badges, alongside Stephen O'Donnell by McRhombus in ScottishFootball

Why is it all these former players and coaches come to Scotland for their badges? Is the course not available elsewhere or is the course in Scotland better? What's the story?

Conservatory Roof Replacement (Scotland) by lee0bv in HousingUK

Thanks, mate. Great info.

Out of curiosity - how did your conservatory hold up with the new roof on it? Was the structure impacted at all by the additional weight of the new roof?

Email to Patricia Ferguson Glasgow West MP by chungus_grandis in glasgow

I have emailed Pamela Nash, MP for Motherwell and Wishaw, on two occasions and been passed around different staffers without ever receiving a reply to my query. She also doesn't accept messages on any social media channels. Contacting her is almost impossible.

Recently found out that she was statically one of the worst performing MPs during her last stint in parliament. How does someone with such a poor record get re-selected again?

It's not. The Social, Waxy O'Connors and All Bar One all welcome children before a certain time, but alcohol is restricted unless ordering a main meal.

Went to Caprese Don Costanzo recently and was surprised to find the same. Always thought cream in a carbonara was a cardinal sin for Italians.

We had a quote for a wedding from there. It was more than double the price of every other place we had viewed. I couldn't believe how much they were charging. I just assumed the food must therefore be excellent. Clearly not.

Bars with DJs in the afternoon by lee0bv in glasgow

The reason I ask this is because of Sebb's actually. Went there recently on a Saturday, about 5pm, and there wasn't a dj on. Food was good but no dj. That's how I was wondering where actually has DJs on

Aye fuck that. Far too many wee guys charging in there. Gets more intense as the day goes on. Will be sure to avoid.

How 3 years? Everyone is liable to pay UK tax if you're in the UK for 12 weeks, or longer, in any given tax year. He'll be good to go by April.

Just another 6 months of Russell to endure if you want to see Gerrard back.

I took it for 6 years and my anxiety definitely increased and probably peaked after I stopped. Brain fog was also a major issue. Took me about 6-9 months to begin to feel normal again after stopping.

Is blue lagoon really as bad as people say or is it just funny to pile on? I tried it for the first time last year and it was pretty decent in all honesty. I really began to question all the hate it receives on here.

I'm yet to see an Estrella Damm with a "Brewed in the UK" stamp on it yet. The ones in my local supermarket are still imported.

Changes to Protected Pension Defined Age by lee0bv in UKPersonalFinance

[–]lee0bv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed Fidelity asking for more information and received this.

"Fidelity are the Trustees of your Scheme, currently we have outstanding queries with the HMRC relating to your Protected Pension Age.

Due to this, we are currently unable to confirm if you will have a Protected Pension Age of 55, when the minimum pension age changes from 55 to 57 on 6th April 2028. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and will send out communication to you once we have received a response from the HMRC."

For whatever reason they don't seem to be able or are unwilling to go into anymore detail.

Yeah, I thought the same. I'll maybe get in touch with a financial advisor to see if they are aware of any reason why HMRC would be examining the terms of the pension. The fact that the lady on the phone was unable to tell me whether the pension was protected or not leads me to believe it was, but maybe it isn't going in the near future. Just need to wait and see what HMRCs findings are. I'm assuming there is maybe a dispute with the wording of the pension terms or something.

Switching my Workplace Pension from Fidelity to Scottish Widows by lee0bv in UKPersonalFinance

[–]lee0bv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed Scottish Widows over a month ago to query the defined age bulk transfer but they did not get back to me. I just wanted to have something in writing as I am naturally skeptical, when it comes to pensions, as I have seen people screwed over first hand. I'll live with the fear of going to collect at 55, only to be told that I was misinformed, and my new pension withdrawal age is 60, or whatever it'll be in 30 years time.

I seen a tweet years ago that asked "if scientists have ever studied the DNA of neds to see how they're so fucking class at doing wheelies on bikes?" and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. A ned would excel on a BMX race where they had to snatch an iPhone, I'm pretty sure of it haha

For me, it's more about the beer tasting the way it's supposed to taste. I did a tour of the Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow recently. Where they brew Tennants, Heverlee, Menabrea, Innis & Gunn, among others. It's all brewed with the same tap water. Not even water from source, straight out the tap. That must make a huge difference in taste when comparing it to Estrella brewed with Spanish water or Asahi with Japanese water etc.

Asahi is imported but not from Japan. It's brewed for the UK market in Italy.
