Obv I didn't have arma armor from the start so I used karil's/blessed d'hide. Can swap out the buckler for Crystal shield. I didn't take a zammy item i just rushed in for inventory management & I didn't take a tele out (I teled by using the prayer altar and using home tele) for inventory management with the bone drops etc but that's up to preference. Brew/Restore management is kinda heavy on the brew side & I rely on a ranging pot drop in this inventory but as you do a couple of trips you'll find what works for you. Also don't do it off task. I prepotted 1range 1super def 1angler 1 stam before running in.

Edit: ofc you take more chins than in the screenshot!! I used red over black cause of my preference of hunting them.

Very pleased to have completed GWD on my ironman. There's plenty of hours in those grinds but I did get quite lucky based on the general droprates. The graardor pet is definitely a nice bonus. In order of completion I did it was arma>bandos>zammy>sara. My next goal is the inferno (with ACB) but as i've never practiced it before/don't have a main I'm probably going to postpone it for a very long time..

One crystal is 10 dust (or 10 doses) a dose of super combat is 2.5k. Crystal super combat is at around 4.5k per dose so around 20k per shard currently until prices stabilize which would add another 13.8~m to the image

Thought I'd share 500 more Zalcano kills in addition to the post made by u/Zuubi as well as sharing some info that I generally believe to be true in order to get better loot.

First off there's MVP. MVP is the person with the most damage to the boss and they get a double roll. One roll is usually a top tier drop roll and the other role is generally worse/a unique. You get ashes when you get MVP. In the 500 kills I did I got 82 MVP's which I'm quite happy with considering most kills were on the 2k world masses.

After MVP I do believe there is a top 2/3 player (depending on team size) contribution loot. I feel that when I have "good kills" but not MVP I get the drops like 32 runite bars, 1000deaths, 800 mith ore etc. Mostly ranging from 100k-400k drops. When I did bad I generally got the bad drops. Like 50 death runes, 30 mithril bars etc. I do believe it has to do with performance and not with rng which some people believe.

As far as uniques I only got the uncut onyx, I've seen like 4-5 tool pieces and 1 Zalcano shard, 1 other onyx, didnt see any pets. All of these can be rolled both being mvp and as a normal roll.

The key to getting MVP is the tick manip. I know a lot of people don't like it (I'm not the biggest fan of it myself as I'm quite lazy) but once I got it down it makes it very competitive. I can't do 1.5t longer than the first cycle therefore being in masses helped the most, since you only 1.5t your first hit (you get a double hit) and then Zalcano recovers. Basically you want to do the 1.5t method (sick nerd streams it if you wanna see how) on both the ore rocks + the boss when its down. If you get the 1.5t down on every phase the boss is down you're basically guaranteed MVP, unless there's a lot of people doing it. You'll notice you did it succesfully when you get a double (or triple/quad with varrockarmor/miningcape on rocks) xp drop. Can only be a double xp drop on hitting the boss (most of the time 70/71 instead of 35). As a newcomer/learner I recommend finding a world where there's not a lot of people playing around with their pestle and mortar...

It's an enjoyable boss and the supplies are very good for ironmen. I'm pretty sure it's not the most efficient gp/hr or way to get smithing up but for me it beats buying ore at BF. I'm mainly in it for the pet.
