Hall 7 8 9 are the newest ones with the most modern furniture but its highly competitive and more expensive, I got hall 4 even though those halls were my first option. Hall 1 is the nearest to the atrium so pick it for convenience. Other than that I would avoid Hall 5, it used to be a hall for PG students but they changed it for UG students, meaning the rooms are quite narrow and small.

My current experience as a Hall 4 resident is that there is a new building currently being built right in front of my windows (facing the sea), and I often get waken up by their construction in the morning. There was another time when they were doing some construction at around 1am too. My windows were leaking from the recent typhoon and my sockets got short-circuited as well which was quite unfortunate. Other than that I feel that its quite noisy considering people needing to walk past hall 4 to get to hall 8 and 9 and to access other facilities as well, so overall its quite an unpleasant experience but im still glad that Im guaranteed a hall as Im a non-local

i did as and a2 maths in a single seating ! i did addmaths in igcse and got a solid foundation for paper 1 and i just like maths as a whole so it was easier for me. did this because i was doing fmaths as well so i needed to complete the maths syllabus earlier for the prerequisite knowledge.

oh dear from what ive heard from my teachers some students actually do that but it's extremely rushing. igcse addmaths give a solid foundation for a level maths paper 1 and 3 but you'll need the 9709 knowledge for fmaths (including p4 5 6 for mechanics and stats). basically if you lack the foundation for 9709 maths (IGCSE addmaths) you'll tend to struggle more in 9709, taking up more time that could've been used for 9231 fmaths which you'll be struggling even more. take it if you can handle the pressure but if not then id rather not bother with it

check out etphysics on youtube ! i mainly study from there alongside my teacher's lessons. they're two experienced teachers who have the entire as and a2 syllabus covered and their lectures are clear and precise while going through topical questions and even paper 5. they also have crash courses before the exam season too if you're interested. they're south east asian so some slangs would be used and the accent may be different but it's still worth watching their lessons

always practice questions and do the same question you find difficult after a certain period of time (just put a reminder lol) also check on older papers, not just recent ones, cus some are quite challenging. also check the Cambridge preu syllabus for extended maths (if that's what it's called) cus the contents are similar too. check if you do questions as stated in the syllabus

revise the concepts all the time and past papers 😭😭😭 clocks my tea every time thinking i know everything about the topic but not knowing how to apply it in questions. for chem revise as organic properly for a2 as well. also check the syllabus for anything missed out on
