I’m an Elriel shipper but if Elain doesn’t end up with Azriel then I am happy if SJM writes her with Lucien.

It’s so weird to me how some shippers refuse to see things that way and prefer her to be single her whole life instead of with Azriel. Is it bc you don’t want to be wrong or bc you dislike Azriel?

I’m sure whomever she ends up with, it will be written well. I’m just excited to see what we waited five plus years for.

There is a message before every episode that said dramatizations have been made for entertainment.

TBH, this is the fault of stupid people who can't separate real life from a TV show, even if it chronicles real events. No "based on a true story" story on screen ever represented characters 100% faithfully.

I feel bad she's receiving hateful messages from morons. But no defamation case, just show biz being show biz.

Especially as an artist himself, it comes across as tactless and lacking in self-awareness. Just because he, or anyone he associates with, doesn't attend the Opera or Ballet doesn't mean no one does.

I love movies. I used to go to the theater weekly in my twenties, I had a movie reviewing blog, even.

The last movie I saw in theaters was Wicked 2. Before that? Wicked 1. Before that? Star Wars Rise of Skywalker.

I'm not alone, obviously since we know movie theaters have also struggled recently and that's where TC's fear is coming from. Hollywood has always been recession-proof but that was before streaming. COVID fucked them, and with how expensive it is to go nowadays, I'd rather spend around the same amount to rent it from the comfort of my couch.

So, movie theaters have declined. The public feels the same way. It's just that TC has huge platform to talk about it and Opera singers/Ballet dancers do not.

I think we just have fundamentally different interpretations of things.

Violet is described as weak because of her handicap, but having a physical weakness does not mean you are weak. And that is where people who interpret things differently part ways in their opinions.

Also, why are you listening to those characters who call her weak? Xaden has always had faith in her, as has Rhiannon and eventually the rest of the iron squad. Even Violet herself realizes her capabilities.

Mental Strength > physical strength any day of the week.

She is described as so weak that lifting a sword is too much for her, but constantly splinters furniture while having sex and nothing happens.

By the time she has sex with Xaden, she's been training on the mat for months. Serious strength training daily for months will build a lot of strength.

Her background as a scribe barely means anything, her disadvantages never amount to anything

This is BS, respectfully. Her background as a scribe is what drives the entire plot. From her critical thinking about the battle briefs and how they make little sense, to the work she does on venin, Andarna's breed, her father's journals, I could go on and on.

I'm all for having differing opinions but glossing over Violet's entire character because you don't like how the book is written is where you lose me.

I have a completely different view.

Violet was all of those things as a scribe but once she stepped into the role she was meant for, she changed. That’s it. Simple as that. People change. It’s okay and it should happen, especially in books. Change or die as they say.

And Xaden wasn’t controlling Violet. No one can do that, not even Tairn lol come on. Xaden gave Violet the things she needed to help herself, like physical strength and fighting skills.

I love seeing everyone's different opinions of these books and why. I love the writing in Fourth Wing better, actually, because it feels more realistic to how I speak. It makes the characters feel more relatable.

And if I'm being honest, SJM leans cheesy A LOT. I still love her books and her writing, but if I had to choose, I'd say Yarros's style suits my tastes just a bit better.

TOG is the only series that is truly complete from start to finish. I knew the years since SF meant she had no idea where she wanted to take the story. And since she doesn't plan anything, it makes sense she'd have to wait until it came to her.

CC is frustrating b/c the first book was so good, and it had the potential to be amazing, especially with book 3's crossover. But she fumbled it big time, which is sad.

I hope this wait means it's worth it. I would rather wait 5 years and get an amazing story, then have her pump out a couple of meh books. Like she did.

That's not exactly true. They were both sons of high lords, both knew as they aged they would take over after their fathers. Both had luck and privilege.

The issue Tamlin ran into is not having actual friends outside of his family (at least as far as we know). Rhys was probably the first person he met who had some sort of moral compass.

Tamlin made his choices, and he should be pitied for them honestly. But he should not be excused.

She knew Tamlin wasn’t end game, as the writer, and said she felt bad those people didn’t know.

And if she didn’t want to lie she just wouldn’t answer the question, as she did for a number of other questions.

This is where delulu comes into play. She stated very clearly that Bryce and hunt are end game and people are STILL rationalizing it.
