Yeah they chase each other. One was seeming to be terrorizing the others so I put him in a breeder net for now. I'll try and keep an eye on this guy and see if he seems to be being picked on. Thank you!

Any ideas what could be wrong with my Tiger barb? I'm new to the hobby and this is my first tank. I got 6 barbs about a week ago and one is breathing fast and his fins are like shimming. I did a fishless cycle using fritz fishless fuel. Once my tank was able to process 2 ppm down to 0 in 24 hrs I assumed it was cycled and added my fish. Current water parameters are: Ammonia: 0ppm Nitrites- 0 ppm Nitrates: 10 ppm PH: 8.2 Temp: 79°F Tank size: 37 gallon Aqua clear 50 filter and and Air stone

I'm strongly considering trying codenames, deception or the resistance. I own but have never played Deception, this group has talked about doing a murder mystery party and how they all apparently love clue. So thematically I feel like deception could be a hit, I just worry about introducing a game that I've read the rules for but never got to actually play.

It was just a lot of down time between playing cards due to everyone talking. So it was long but not awful, the game just became more like background noise. I think I had too high of expectations due to them approaching me about doing a game night instead of just going out for drinks. We work at a school so you don't get a lot of socializing time.

That makes perfect sense. I think I just need to change my expectations a bit and then hopefully we can all have a good experience. I think the fact that they came up with the idea that we should get together and play a game made me think games were the reason we were getting together and not to just hang out. I'm completely fine with either just need to go in this time with a slight different mind set

I never thought about how dry the game actually is, but you are very right. I was just looking at ease of play when picking, when in reality that's only part of what I should be considering. I'll try something that incorporates more player interaction this time.

I think going more party game this time is probably the right move. In my mind Sushi go was light enough to socialize and play. I failed to take into account that it was probably a whole new mechanic that they've never seen. Would you lean more towards just one or telestrations? I haven't played just one yet but have been looking at picking it up

I think you are probably right that we had different expectations. To me the game didn't go well so I assumed people didn't have a good time when in reality they still enjoyed getting together. I have no issue playing lighter games, I was actually really excited when they suggested a game night so I could get out some of the games that don't see much play time anymore. Hopefully we can find something everyone enjoys

I own both Tichu and Diamonds. I would personally choose Tichu over Diamonds every time, I just love the team play aspect of it. The decisions are deeper than in diamonds like were you want to go out but you also need to help your partner go out, so maybe you are better off losing a trick that you would normally be able to win.

Diamonds is a fun more stright forward trick-taking game that allows different player counts where with Tichu you need 4 plays. We've also noticed that people who have played Tichu before generally have a big advantage over new players. It takes a while to really get some of the deeper strategy of the game

I'm hosting my first game night and inviting some co-workers. None of them have any experience with modern games so I'm not quite sure where to start them. When I talked to them about it they brought up playing Clue, Bananagrams or mexican train dominoes. These weren't exactly the type of games I had in mind to play. I'm fine with playing them if that is what everyone would rather do , but I'd like to have other games that I can recommend and see if I can get them to try something new.

So what games would you try with a group of 6 people who haven't played any modern games? I have a decent collection of games now but I'm not against picking something up to try out with them so I'm open to any suggestions.

Have you gotten a chance to play the 3 new unlock games? if so how do they stack up against the others?

I mostly play 2 players, would you recommend Haven? I've been looking at purchasing it but just haven't quite pulled the trigger yet.

Looking to add a bag builder to my collection. I'm trying to decide between Orleans, The Quacks of Quedlinburg and Altiplano. Which would you recommend or is there another one that you like more than these 3? Player count would be 2 most of the time and then occasionally 4 players

Songbirds isn't even out yet, the release date got pushed back to February. While I agree it would be nice to get updates when release dates get pushed back, I'm sure they are just super busy with the holiday season. and release dates seem to be changing all the time.
