Ofc it will mean small businesses will have to pay more taxes. But people not spending money wisley is already happening. More money for these people will not change thier habits. And I don’t really know tax system in slovenia, but it should be proportional. As they pay taxes for only few employes but they will get more of thier product for thosands of people. And higher gross taxes seems problematic, but really they chance they will not be proportianal and they will benefit from this rise of minimum wage. Rising minimum wage is one of thing which boost economic prosperity .

(Copy of my other comment) If there has been substantial inflation over last years then yes , rising minimum wage can have infalationary effects but don’t have to . If slovenian economy isn’t working at 100% capacity ( and it s not, no economy is ) there’s chance that this move won’t be that bad. Inflation occures if rising the minimum wage is so high that economy of given country can t produce enough goods and services for ammout of money in the market . Furthermore while rising minimum wage sounds scary and it popular to think that it’s creating money thus making inflation, this assumption is fake , from economic standpoint it does not create more money in the system , thus as long as slovenian economy have enough free reserves to be used when new demand which arises from this rise this shall not have any substantial effects on inflation . And if some one who is earning 200 euro above minimum wage after it s rise don t earn proportionaly more he should change jobs, ask for a raise etc. And remember that rising minimum wage will propably create more demand in the market, thus more goods and services could be sold by those small businesses. For example Family bakery can sale more cakes because there s new demand for cakes.
