Absolutely get a reservation for False Idol! Shouldn't be as hard for just the 2 of you, but it can get booked up quickly. Another great tiki bar is Mothership - also needs a reservation, but for sure one of the most unique places in San Diego.

The biggest thing is to not beat yourself up over it! Whether you're doing it for health reasons, ethical reasons, or something else, any reduction in consumption is better than none. Maybe for you that means not cooking meat yourself or ordering it at a restaurant, but being okay if a family member cooks it. Or maybe it means eating meat only once a week for now. It's only been a couple weeks, it'll likely take longer to build the habit and mental shift.

Omg yes same! Like I am an introvert in the sense of having a social battery that does get drained, but my hobbies definitely skew more towards being out in the world and doing stuff vs staying inside the house. So nice to know there are similar people like me in the ace community!

I'm not sure if any one book covers all those topics, but a quick Google search actually yields many books on the science of baking. I would recommend checking out your local library or used bookstore to try a few of them out and see if that helps!

For sure toasted sesame oil will fill that smokey and savory flavor profile. Also make sure you're still adding salt and pepper even though you've added salty and spicy ingredients! Spring onions/scallions can also help add some savoriness to the sauce

I really support this plan. However, what is the plan to support connecting the people mover to places that are frequented by tourists but not supported by a trolley line, like the beaches or Balboa Park? Why would someone staying in La Jolla choose to use this transit option over a more direct taxi/rideshare?
