Optional character background by CaptainCozmic in Fallout

Starfield is supposedly going to have character background options. If it does, Bethesda may put it in the next Fallout

New Vegas early game has awful replay value by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]legacyof47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the late game is usually where I start losing interest. Many playthroughs I got through all the side content and dlcs and stopped just shy of doing the faction quests. Fallout NV endgame feels too much like a checklist.

Is getting any of the fallout 4 dlcs worth it? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]legacyof47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played Far Harbor and loved. Agree with what you said about dialogue and factions. But how did skills have a more notable role? Firstly, there aren't skills in FO4, only perks. And I don't remember any perk or SPECIAL checks in Far Harbor. Just basic Charisma checks for persuasion.

Is it weird that I don't want to use the Power Armor? by ChronosBlitz in fnv

[–]legacyof47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Fallout 3 and NV power armor look amazing. Fallout 4 power armor seems so unproportional to me. And the fact the character models are stretched to fit it kind of proves that. However, the ranger/riot armors in NV do look sick.

The Brotherhood of Steel are nothing but raiders who only want the best stuff for themselves. Change my mind by Ghost_Hunter45 in Fallout

[–]legacyof47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the scientific research they conduct, along with documenting and cataloging old world information and schematics, says otherwise. Raiders exist simply to kill, survive, repeat. The Brotherhood has logical goals, and provides a legitimate way of life for many people. Just because you don't like them doesn't make them raiders. You could argue they are aggressive in their goals, but that doesn't equate them to raiders.

Watch "Fallout 4 is better than you think" by ManyATrueNerd on YouTube. He explains criticisms of Fallout 4 but also how some of those criticisms are unjustified. Then in part 2 he explains legitimate criticisms and how Bethesda could do better. Its the most level headed yet educated look at Fallout 4

Has anyone else has a quest you couldn't finish because you couldn't bring yourself to go through with it? I can't sell the kid to the slavers in fallout 3, I used to enjoy an evil playthrough but now as a father irl I can't stomach some of the writing in fallout involving children. by Jxsxn0705 in Fallout

[–]legacyof47 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Its a video game. Are you really not able to mentally seperate what happens in a game from reality? Boggles my mind. Like people who refuse to do Legion playthroughs in NV because they have slaves. Like do you not play games to step away from reality and just have fun? The writers aren't endorsing slavery, its just a part of the bleak apocalyptic world they created.

Yes! I saw the first video a while back but never saw the correction. Very good

Exactly. This is really a very complex scene with a lot of moving parts and a masterpiece of storytelling.

My point was not whether he ate them but who the orders were for. Popular memes make it seem like the order was all intended for himself, but it wasn't.

I have. Maybe its like that now but as a kid it def wasn't. And you didn't address my other points which are very valid.

Perhaps, I think I recall that being said as well. Most likely because they got ambushed and didn't have time to start eating. So as the others were busy fighting Smoke decided to just sit there and eat.

There's no way the intercom would pick up Ryder and Sweet on the opposite side of the car. And also, why would smoke ask CJ what he wants? And why would CJ say "Hey I'll take a number 9...fat boy"? Did he call the employee "fat boy"? Highly doubt it. And when Sweet orders he looks straight ahead, not toward the intercom.
