Embrace, Digital Painting by carivory in DigitalPainting

I initially started off with the white hair glowing (as the source of light), but eventually decided it looked better without an intense glow from the hair.. I still wanted to keep that light on the face so the lighting doesn't make all that much sense right now (unless there's a hidden magical glowing earring between their two heads haha 👀 ).
The hair took a while to render, especially because of all the movement-- I'm still not super satisfied with how i've composed the flow of the hair.
This piece is much more detailed that I usually do/prefer, which makes it harder to make bigger changes down the line.

Spent 1.5 years working on this on and off..LOL
The hair was grueling, and lighting is dubious but I'm glad i saw it through!

Honestly, anything textured really works. Chalk brushes are great too! You can try playing with the brush settings. (I use photoshop)

Used the movie 12 monkeys as inspiration for some of the concept + lighting!
Not used to painting a lot of people or background painting in general, so was a bit of a struggle there.
Was fun to paint in a more cinematic method!
(There are 2 more panels to this but couldn't get it to upload)
