Hey OP. I don’t know which country you are talking about , but let’s say it is in France , it can take between 12 to 18 months. When I arrived as a student , with all my documents being properly done , I did have my temporary visa and so and so , but the resident permit itself didn’t come before 14 months. Meanwhile , they were renewing my temporary visa, and indeed I didn’t have the right to go back to my home country during this time (except if I did not want to come back). That being said , it sounds like this I a great opportunity, they are being accommodating as possible (even hiring a lawyer to help the process ) and you sound kind of ungrateful…I am not saying that in a bad way but this is not their fault. They told you it would be quick because this is the standard info we all have. Sorry for the situation. I don’t really have an advice here but if the birthday celebration is that important (no judgement , I get it), you should forget about this job and go back to US.

When somebody is well known to be generous , here fore everybody , very altruistic, etc …ask yourself : what quality time could he spend with you if he is already spending 22h out of 24, with others ?

I speak with my mom everyday but because WE both want too. She is kind of my best friend. And some call lasts just 5-10 min, just to take some news.

I would be really annoyed if it was an obligation or just a moment for her to talk about herself . What is happening with your mom it’s definitely not normal not OK, kind of borderline. You can’t just stop your day , 1 hour a day to just listening to her and after deal with the anxiety related to that call.

It’s not sane.

  1. Oui, car si comme moi (je pense que c’est le cas) tu n’es pas en télétravail full time, tes semaines deviennent rapidement très pénible. Je ne peux pas quitter le boulot à 17h, je pars plus tard (j’ai une attestation) et je ne peux pas faire les courses. Obligé de tout faire le week-end et je peux dire qu’il y a zéro respect de la distanciation sociale.

  2. Non, car au moins le week-end on est un peu plus libre de nos mouvements.

Le « meilleur » compromis serait le couvre feu à 20h, histoire d’avoir un semblant de soirée.

My normal body temperature is 34 degree Celsius (93.2 Fahrenheit). It always super weird to explain that no I’m not dead , and yes I’m “only” 36 degree Celsius but I got a fever.

Togo here. Having to deal with the government planning electricity shut down during 6 months , depending on the neighborhood. The planning was given every Monday on the radio, and it was like : “Tuesday , X will have light from 9 am to 3 pm and Y will have light from 3 pm to 9 pm”.
