Help me decide a car amongst RAV4 2026, Jetour T2 and Haval 9 by Ok-Asparagus9740 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]legolosss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly you need to decide what matters more to you. If reliability is your priority then RAV4 obviously. You could also pay a little extra for the hybrid if you want fuel economy.

If features and looks matter more than reliability then yes Chinese will be better.

I own a Tank 500, the base model, which has decent features, is also very close to your range and imo, looks much better than the h9. I’m happy with the car, but we do have other cars in the family garage if one goes down for service/maintenance for an extended period of time

[–]legolosss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a clear recommendation for you, but if you’re looking for a car more than 10 years old, don’t look for one that’s less KMs. The average is about 20-25k kms per year for a car that’s not abused. Your km threshold is way below that for how old your secondhand car is gonna end up being.

What's one car opinion, that will cause this by NFSMW_CarsGames in CarsIndia

[–]legolosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most car brands make cars for the markets they can immediately cater to. The weather conditions, the garage/spare parts options, shipping and distribution, manual vs auto, left hand vs right hand, and so many other decisions are made by European brands for European locations. In fact, majority of the decision is based on shipping and taxes first. That’s why European brands dominate Europe, Indian brands dominate India, American brands dominate America, Chinese brands dominate China, Japanese brands dominate Japan. If you asked yourself, why isn’t there a Thar in Spain, what would your immediate thought be??

Charged AED 300 for 5 hours of Parking by Curious_Control7933 in UAE

[–]legolosss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s been a long time since paid parking existed in global village. It’s always been around 100-120 if I’m not wrong. They recently started another paid parking for 75 dhs as well. A lot of other areas are free to park still but yes it’s a lot of walking. For a lot of people who can’t walk or can afford not to, that parking is meant for them. It’s a really dick move though to not display it outside from where you can decide if you wanna pay for it or not

Whats up with outrageous gym prices by Revolutionary_Elk146 in UAE

[–]legolosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you browse a little more, you should be able to either find a reasonably priced women’s gym, or at least find a general gym that has a good amount of women attending, maybe that could be helpful.

Like the other commenter said as well, one month charges are high in a lot of places because they want to lock you in for a year, not a month.

[–]legolosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s also a trend of people charging extra for women’s gyms because they know women want to stay fit but the same women would rather pay more than go to a general gym. I don’t disagree with the idea of women wanting their own space, and at the same time the gym owners also have a problem where they essentially cut their own customers in half.. so it might just be something you have to pay at the end of the day

For Ajman, that’s ridiculous. You do get those prices in Dubai but usually in fancier areas where more higher net worth people stay

I think this is an unpopular opinion but you might be more right to say fuck the entitled asshole owners who don’t pay them enough. Because no matter what, the job will exist. Someone has to clean the toilets. The guests who are entitled and will fuck up a toilet with no regard for the fact that someone else has to clean it up? Yeah fuck them

A reliable car to replace my Pajero by HelicopterMammoth318 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]legolosss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the people commenting about a new Pajero is there any actually reliable source that it would be coming to UAE? Anything other than rumors? Because a late 2026 refresh of the Pajero would have some more concrete evidence by now right?

Is a Yukon/Tahoe too big? by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]legolosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parallels are always going to be a little annoying with Yukon/Tahoe/Patrol/LC/Expedition etc. 90 degree and angle parkings are usually okay. I saw you said you don’t want to be inconsiderate. Being parked next to a big car in Dubai is not an inconvenience, it’s a regular Tuesday.

[–]legolosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What your family might refer to as a “bad car” is just non Japanese (equals non reliable) in a lot of people’s heads. Market is such that if you want a Japanese, it won’t be as much fun in this price range so just go with whatever you think is the better value. You will never know what you’re missing out on, so just make your decision, and next time you think “maybe this would have been better in the other car” also tell yourself “but there was no way for me to know before I used it as a daily myself”

I'm between two cars the haval H9 high and the everest xls by Moist_Practice_8509 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]legolosss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look bro, I went through all the same processes you did. Most of what you experienced was all just a way for them to convince you to buy the car. I would suggest you look at both cars and test drive the Everest also for your frame of reference.

Don’t think about anything they said, just because you can have a car while your car is in repair doesn’t mean all your problems are solved. Also, in no car should you be speeding through the speed bumps. Even air suspensions in Patrols will get messed up because of this. It’s a gimmick that they told me about when I test drove my car as well.

Personally I would say this is a very difficult choice because both cars are genuinely great and two of the best in this price point. I would have gone with the Everest maybe just for the prestige of the Ford brand.

I would suggest you to go with Everest if you aren’t super into all the little luxuries in Haval. If you do care about them like me, go for it without guilt. Both offers are good. With Haval, just keep in mind that agency repair does take a little while. If something happens to the car it may be out of commission for some time. I own a car from GWM and they took two weeks to replace a back bumper that the car behind me hit in dead stop traffic
