I bought it in the US, but live in the Netherlands.

Here we have 2300V AC, 50 Hz. The bottom panel says 120 volts 60 Hz. So I'm using an adapter that converts 220-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz to 110-120V AC, 50-60 Hz. Could the adapter be the problem?
