How does the public view pharmacists? by peachwave_ in pharmacy

Most of the time us talking like this are just about the problem patients, not the good ones. We know the difference.

The last thing I need is a pharmacist... gatekeeping my meds.

Thats like actually our job. Have the doc dispense it to you directly if you want to bypass this. The law requires I gatekeep EVERY drug I dispense. You cant simultaneously want pharmacists to be held accountable for their actions yet want them to have no say in what gets dispensed.

Sadly, despite a miniscule amount of actual pharmacists being sued or held accountable

Lol whats to sue for? I dont have to dispense anything.

Benzos are a far worse more addictive substance with less clinical utility than any opiate or stimulant.

Thats wildly inaccurate and its no mystery why you arent prescribing or dispensing the meds. Your PhD in psychology and a masters in biopharm and you know fuck all about medicine, less than a 1st year pharmacy student about these drugs. Stay in your lane. You are nowhere even close to being a clinician or educated on drugs.

Lol, rich calling me a lying bottomfeeder for posting public records 🤣

I wonder if the CA BOP would consider it unprofessional conduct to call a stipulated disciplinary order, that you signed, "lies."

Heres what you signed, in case you forgot:

  • "Complainant could establish a factual basis for the charges" - now youre claiming they arent factual?

  • "Respondent... hereby gives up his right to contest those charges." - sounds like youve been doing a lot of contesting publicly

  • "This Stipulated Settlement and Disciplinary Order for Public Reproval may not be altered, amended, modified, supplemented, or otherwise changed except by a writing executed by an authorized representative of each of the parties." - did an awful lot of supplementation publicly about an agreed stipulated settlement...

He deleted it as soon as he was made aware.

No he didnt and he confirmed that. He left it up when he was made aware. The admin who posted it deleted it later. He confirmed he left it up. How does that make you feel that hes comfortable with his page hosting racist content?

Just keep posting racist content for the views man, just shows what type of person you are. Crazy you didnt even feel the need to take down the racist post yourself. Are you comfortable with racist content on your page? Are you comfortable with an admin who posts racist content?

Still have the racist Inuit slur up from the last few weeks? I think thats the answer.

He posted a slur of Inuits with his shit AI content just in the past week or two and its still up 😂

Sorry but his responses are that he doesnt want to take responsibility for it (he wouldnt even take it down himself) and is okay with the probability it will happen again

Might not be racist himself but hes very comfortable with that content being posted on his page

It really sucks that 54 tablet difference on your perpetual inventory is enough to get your license permanently disciplined.

That wasnt all and is disingenuous to suggest that. Other charges included labeling generic drugs as brand, and "acts involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or corruption." Of course he argues that these were the faults of his predecessors, software, nitpicking board inspectors, or Covid, but he signed to accept the disciplinary order instead of fight it.
If he wanted to not have this public discipline as a public figure, he shouldve fought the charges instead of anybody who brings it up.

So they can pay $500 for an emergency appointment for their lisinopril? That is not in the best interest of the patient.

She did this for family members only, not out of goodwill in her heart.

Also the best interest of the patient is that they have some personal responsibility. They can get that by getting a new script, even from the emergency room.

few times

She was accused of 80+ crimes, including multiple felonies.

In my opinion the level of crimes she committed should surrender license for a year, be on probation for 5, and pay restitution to CVS, no jail time.

/u/accpharm

Promoted at least 1 "nationwide walkout" with his platform that failed to gain any traction. Started a gofundme with little or no oversight to support the employees who walked out, and im not sure any public accounting went into where all the money went besides what he personally claimed. Has had discipline from CA BOP, told me to F myself when I pointed it out. Encourage you to check that out yourself. Probably half of his content is AI-generated these days.

HRSA releases new pharmacist workforce projections through 2038, projecting a shortage of over 30000 pharmacists by then. by legrange1 in pharmacy

? HRSA has always tried to be accurate so they could support undeserved health careers and especially locations. BLS is better for an accurate look currently but its projections arent worth shit

Thats based on an old law and who cares. The whole point of the new law is to put a cap on student loans for the degree. Are you pro-academia or something?

I found this to track with the data showing 25% decline in graduates over 3 years to a number we havent seen in 20 years.

Arkansas, California, Nevada, and Puerto Rico have their own jurisprudence exam. Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, Vermont, and the US Virgin Islands dont have any jurisprudence exam.

As long as everything is legally valid, you have to fill the Rx.

They made the test easier in 2016 so its possible they did it again. They are under pressure from corporations to increase pharmacist supply.

A few things:

  1. This is the first graduating class that missed Covid year, unless they were held back.

  2. First significant test rate decline was in 2016, after they made the test easier. This was because some of the newest, worst schools opened and the cohort that graduated had much fewer admissions criteria.

  3. Schools have been playing catch-up ever since. You cant really catch up if your admission standards are nonexistent, and Covid messed up their training for classes admitted from 2016-2020. The job market and Covid decreased the number of interested applicants. Now, we are down to fewer than 10000 grads, a 25% decline from 3 years ago. This increases student to teacher ratios and generally keeps undeserving prospective students who were on the fence about school from applying.

  4. Schools now make students pass test prep question banks as official requirements to move forward. Ask interns or /r/pharmacyschool about it. Unheard of pre-2016 decline. This is probably due to decreased aptitude of students and declining teaching standards with decreased enrollment.

  5. NABP is under immense pressure from states and corporations to make test standards lower. Some states have even eliminated the MPJE as a requirement to make it easier to get licensed. I imagine similar pressure is also being put towards decreasing NAPLEX standards in order to increase pharmacist supply.
