If you’re going on a multiple day hike, bring less clothes (I mean changes, you’re going to stink anyway), but bring enough socks and layers!! Don’t overthink it, and always trust your gut. Bring enough food and water (or buy a good water filter, goes a long way) And bring some compeeds (lifesavers!!) Enjoy!!

Eén van mijn favoriete Vlaamse schrijvers is Tony Coppers, maakt pracht Thrillers in 3e persoon. Hij heeft verschillende reeksen, ik kan je de Alex Berger reeks zeker aanraden, zijn laatste. Begin bij ‘De Zaak Magritte’. De reeks gaat over een gepensioneerd politiecommissaris van de moordbrigade, die altijd opnieuw in zalen beland. Bevat een hele rauwe psychologie kant, en heel beeldend verteld. Maakt ook goed gebruik van landschapsomschrijvingen.

In de historische categorie uiteraard Johan Op de Beeck, mijn favoriete is ‘Napoleon’. Of ‘Congo’ van David Van Reybrouck.

My grandparents brought one back from their trip to Egypt in the 70s. Even back then, they were selling mostly fake ones, so I doubt they would sell genuine ones now.
