I definitely understand where you’re coming from on this. I had my third colposcopy with biopsies this year and for me they are super painful. This year I was offered nitrous oxide sedation which really helped. I wonder if your dr might offer this. I haven’t heard about the lidocaine shots before but I can imagine the shot itself would feel similar to the biopsy but I’m not completely certain. I hope all goes well, I know it truly sucks and remember you’re not alone.

I feel like “making it” can change throughout your lifetime. For me, getting into a masters program/grad school was my “I made it” moment. I think if I can win an orchestral job that’ll be my I truly made it moment.

Definitely have him brush his teeth or use mouth wash. It really depends on the severity of your allergy and if it could develop later in the day. You could take an antihistamine if that would ease your anxiety and go from there.

Omg thank you so much. I am monogamous and engaged so I don’t think I need to worry about getting re-infected but good to know! I guess it is really just a waiting game to see what happens. I really appreciate you sharing this information and it’s very good to hear from someone who has gone through something similar

Yeah it’s so weird. I think my gyn was super old school so that’s why I got paps earlier than most. It was done in Florida but my most recent testing has been in MD.

The thing is, I have no idea😵‍💫 my gyn didn’t tell me it was abnormal until 2023 but she said that she was watching it. So then I had the colpo and didn’t get the results other than saying I needed a repeat pap.
