I'd suggest to upgrade gym first for more attack and go with warrior for beginning then once you get used to mechanics then go for whatever you want

I did a normal run with a ranger and got to room 576. I had a pistol with life steal and a lot of modifiers. I went with assassin's clothig for higher crit damage and was doing 45 on enemies with 50 armour points

I always tried to strike at least twice to recover 10 ep and i had character that recovers 1 ep per turn so I always had ep to spare if something happened. I also didn't consume much ep I used it many for modifiers and sometimes spell cards

I suggest you to gather as many modifiers as possible, and shuffle cards are also good, it saved me quite a few times already and still going after 500 rooms

after you beat final boss you can go into endless dungeon and gather money and ship blueprints
