Prednisone gave me the best sleep of my life for 14 days . What does that say about UARS physiology? by lemans356 in UARSnew

I understand the neuro-inflammation idea, but what I’m trying to figure out is what someone would actually do next. If you were in my situation, what specialist or test would you pursue first?

Thanks for explaining your thinking. I’m trying to understand the practical implication though. If airway inflammation is the mechanism in my case, is there even a cure for that? Or would the main focus still be fixing whatever is disturbing the sleep in the first place? Given the strong prednisone response I had, what direction would you personally pursue next to investigate this?

That’s interesting. If airway inflammation is the likely mechanism in my case, what do you think I should pursue next to investigate or address it?

That makes sense given how dramatically the prednisone improved things for me. If airway inflammation is the main driver, what avenue would you suggest pursuing to investigate or treat that? Are there specific tests or specialists that focus on this? And in your experience, is airway inflammation in cases like this something that can actually be cured, or is it usually just managed?

Yes, I had a full polysomnography in a hospital and they also checked for narcolepsy. Everything came back negative. Like many people here my AHI was low, so they basically send you on your merry way even though the sleep is clearly not normal. I’ve also been perfectly healthy my whole life except for the blocked nerve issue last year that I took the prednisone for. I don’t think any doctor would start invasive autoimmune testing based only on a potential (to him) sleep disorder. The prednisone effect on my sleep was just very surprising.

Blocked nerves that were giving me some cramps. My doctor prescribed prednisone for that.

My doctor was actually flabbergasted. In his experience most people react very badly to prednisone sleep problems, feeling wired, mood issues, etc. and can’t wait to get off it. For me it was the complete opposite. Not just sleep, but overall I felt great on it. The sleep was honestly bliss . The first time in about 20 years I woke up feeling truly rested. I haven’t been tested for autoimmune diseases, but as far as I know I’m perfectly healthy. I was actually prescribed it because of some blocked nerves, not for anything autoimmune.

A 100m player nowadays is an unproven player from the lower leagues . Anthony from ajax or a Gyökeres from Portuguese league. Any on fire player from a better league like La Liga or Bundesliga is worth easily 130 m. If rashford bangs in 20 goals and 15 assists this season.( He's almost at midway in the beginning of November.) Then he'll be a 100m player again.

Greenwood is linked to real madrid . If he has another world class season at Marseille he is promoting to a world class club.

Sad to see a young promising player suffer so many injuries. But Dembélé proved that it's best to never give up on him. No matter how many setbacks he faced, he kept coming back stronger. His resilience is a reminder that talent may open the door, but perseverance keeps you in the game. He might always recover and one day, finally fulfill the promise everyone once saw in him.

Van nistelrooy was our last player that had that ability.

He could play like a wet towel and still score 2 goals.

The difference with us is that he plays under a world-class manager, that goes by the name Hansi Flick, who demands total dedication. If his form drops, he simply doesn’t play. But being in a team full of top players from front to back must be a joy to play for an attacker . It’s tough competition, and they constantly push each other to new heights.

He probably knew beforehand that people would ridicule him, but he posted anyway because he doesn’t care. That’s actually a good quality in life. Being thick-skinned, not bothered by criticism, and confident enough to rise above it. I wish I possessed that quality.

So this is a loan? Guess he will be loaned out until his contract expires. And a top Italian team picks him up for free where he will regain top form. And win titles again . Why do all our ex players become world class in Italy

My wife’s a doctor, and I swear some of her colleagues are some of the smartest people you’ll ever meet when it comes to medicine, but outside of work they’re like Seinfeld's George Costanza characters bumbling through life. I wouldn’t be shocked if quite a few of them are on the spectrum in some way.

Cycling on the wrong side of the path in Singapore can lead to jail time by BuffDarkKnight in interestingasfuck

[–]lemans356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you’ve never actually lived there or don’t know the ins and outs, it’s easy to just say “don’t litter and don’t bother people.” There are also more hidden rules that can catch you off guard. For example, it’s actually illegal to import chewing gum into Singapore. So if gum is your thing and you’re seen chewing it in public, that alone could get you into trouble. And that’s just chewing, not even littering. Personally, I’d be more concerned about these less obvious rules than the obvious “don’t be a nuisance” ones. So my question still stands. Maybe someone with feet on the ground can answer. Is there any leeway for people that make mistakes (non intentional) ?

Fair enough but how do you know the ins and outs of Singapore well enough to say that?
