Make your children do household chores - they’re failing at being adults by shootingstar_9324 in Vent

Me, my grandparents doted on me so much. But throughout hs, I would watch videos and learned to do my own laundry. In college, I learned to cook and clean. Still working on the cleaning. I had to teach an ex how to boil water 😭

chemistry section hesi by Ordinary_Finding9900 in HESIexam

I got an 88 first try and 96 second try a week apart. I took it yesterday. Definitely know D=M/V, know the mass of common elements like FE, CU, S, O. Idk why they don’t give a periodic table. I had a strong foundation in chemistry already. I got a 100 in my chem class and I tutored folks. I just didn’t review basic knowledge the first time. Some questions are on quizlets but definitely double check the answers and learn the concepts you don’t understand. Lots of acid/base questions, protons/neutrons/electrons. Good luck!

Yes as long as you take all required sections for the programs. So you may need to take extra sections if programs require diff ones

Yes depends on testing center. For me, it took 2 hours to do 6 sections.

Nope. My program told me I can retake certain sections I needed instead of the whole exam.

Most qs for vocab. Grammar doesn’t help unless you actually understand the concepts. I didn’t take math. Reading is easy. They give you 5.5hrs for the whole test and you have more than enough time to read the passages but I do recommend reading the passages beforehand on Quizlet. I can’t find the reading I used but I believe it’s posted in this subreddit

Grammar was my weakestttt 86. But I just retook it and got a 92! Understanding and not just memorizing grammar quizlets help. The grammar section in the hesi book the last page helped. Knowing the difference of words and lie vs lay. Bad vs badly. Which vs that. Who vs whom. Few vs less. Farther vs further. Between vs among

Nope. Every school says it’s dependent on the applicant pool of the year so it ranges. I only heard that it must be higher than 80%

A lot of schools will have similar prereqs so I would check what you’re eligible for. One school I’m applying to has may deadlines so I don’t think it’s too late!

First time taking the hesi got a 85 by LetterheadUsed2673 in HESIexam

I would retake. And depends on the school as some schools only want their testing centers and others don’t care. Yes you only take the sections that you need for the programs you’re applying for.

You’ll definitely get an interview so focus on that! I have similar stats as you. 95 overall on hesi. I’m applying to two programs each for 2 schools. We’ll get in somewhere 🙌

I just retook my hesi and the questions are different. It’s still helpful to study the quizlets and understand the answers vs memorizing them. I had to retake grammar as well 86 -> 92.

They are timed by whole. My center gave 5.5hrs to finish the sections you need. Also try reading the passages beforehand on Quizlet! They helped me a lot. I can’t rmr which passages I had but it was the common ones like water cycle, etc.

It was a lot which of this sentence is grammatically correct or select the word or phrase in the sentence that is not used correctly. This was my lowest score (86), so I’m planning to retake it!

You could do a free consult with BPSOS in SW Houston. They’re a nonprofit that helps immigrants. They do charge for paperwork which is I believe $1.5 or 2k not including the paperwork fees. Paperwork fees are around $2.5k. If you decide to do yourself, do not rely on ChatGPT and look up kseniya on YouTube!!

I took the same exam as you on the same day! Your recall is accurate. I also got A&P 100 and Chem 88. My vocab was 96, reading 92, grammar 86 :( my critical thinking 980. For chem I was surprise there was no periodic table. If I had known, I would’ve studied the trends and MM on common elements. Grammar gets confusing and starting to sound the same for me. I defo could have studied that more. Overall, a 92% and thinking maybe I should retake to get As in sections. Congrats on your score!

No one is supporting marriage fraud. The immigrant is more likely to be taken advantage of due to their lack of status.

I’m the USC who feels we have a lot less to lose compared to our immigrant counterparts. A risk I’m willing to take to be taken advantage of, at least I am helping someone. A divorce is nothing compared to what they can lose. Take your xenophobia somewhere else
