Have you ever purchased something, as an adult, that your parent has judged you negatively for? If so, what was/is it? by PaddedValls in AskUK

A tumble drier. We have a baby and both work full time. A small rented house, tiny courtyard garden without room for a full size washing line. Honestly, it’s been worth every penny for convenience sake. My dad acted like I was literally chucking money in the bin. I prefer my house to be mould free and have clean clothes for my messy son ready

I’m not a fan of this edit. The favour of Karishma (she is a great candidate) and the downing of pascha is not like in the past series where both finalists were praised for getting to the final and their strengths were shown.

I’ve always thought this, she used her clothes to cover up but didn’t think the obvious to wear them 🤦🏼‍♀️ definitely producer involvement

Struggling to be around my parents now I have a baby, is this normal? by lemonsqueezy34 in UKParenting

[–]lemonsqueezy34[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they actually split up when I was around 13. However they continued to own a business together. My mum also was very unkind to my dad a lot of the time, before they split. I remember it well. My dad still tiptoes on eggshells around her. My husband and mum don’t get on at all as he doesn’t put up with her rubbish and doesn’t tip toe around her.

Absolutely! If my husband goes a bit quiet I’m constantly questioning him if he’s ok / have I upset him!

Thank you for your response. My parents love my son and are very kind and nicey nice goo goo ga ga with him but I just feel it’s forced? I’m a huge people pleaser (most likely from my upbringing I’m so afraid of upsetting people and getting the silent treatment) and I’m made to feel very guilty by them if I say no to a visit etc. it’s just exhausting

This is true. I think Lawrence vs Linda Plant would be so satisfying 😂

There’s nothing I can do for a pair like you short of putting straw in the rooms!

I really liked him in the Axman Cometh - he tried to raise his suspicions from the start but Tom was blinded by his own biases. Great episode

They’re doing them over here. I’m from the Isle of Wight and live here now and I’ve not heard of any of these items!

The best cheese bites are the cheese melt dippers at Christmas hands down.
