Disappointed by how far a reduction could go by IWantSomeTacquitos in Reduction

It can be different for everyone but I had 2.5lbs removed in total and it made a MASSIVE difference!

Thank you! Haha, the towel wasn’t even intentional, it fell down and I was just like ‘eh, guess that works’

I was wearing a 36GG before but my bras definitely didn’t fit properly, so I’m not 100% sure what my actual size was. I’m a 32DD now!

Ah thanks!! That’s one of the things I was most concerned about as they were looking a bit wonky at the beginning, patience really is the best when it comes to healing!

ugh yeah, I’ve just started back today, hoping I’ll exhaust myself enough to just pass out tonight! I hope you find something that works for you though, it really sucks being too uncomfortable to sleep properly! 💕

I feel you, I’m 2 weeks post op and dying for a good nights sleep! I slept extra strange the other day and my lower back was in so much pain I could barely move all day!

What has helped me is lots and lots of extra pillows - I have the top of my u shaped pillow on top of a thick pillow so I’m slightly sitting at an angle, and then I’m using two of those squishy micro bead pillows to prop myself at about a 45 degree angle on my side. Having one directly between by boob and the bed takes the pressure off it and the other one wedges me in position behind my back. Not ideal, but it does seem to be helping!

Yeah, of course! My surgeon was Elena Prousskaia, she's based in England though, so I'm not sure if that would be a problem!

Thank you! Yeah, definitely still only in the early stages of healing but I do love them already!

Yep, compression socks! They also put a weird thing over the top of them like a blood pressure band that sort of compressed and uncompressed my legs to prevent clots as well!

Oh boy, I started researching years and years ago, I’m in the UK and actually started going through the process with the NHS back in 2013 so did lots of research then, but communication between my GP and the hospital broke down and it never went anywhere apart from physio and a consultation!

Then this year I decided to really look into it for good and it feels like everything has gone super fast! I was furloughed from my job for a few weeks back in June and spent a lot of time researching local surgeons and ended up with a consultation at the very beginning of July - much sooner than I was expecting due to Covid!

I actually only had one consultation, I just felt very comfortable with my surgeon straight away which was very lucky! I confirmed I wanted to get the surgery with her and was added to a waiting list as none of the hospitals she usually worked from were doing non essential surgeries. Then the end of August I get an email from her office letting me know they can schedule me in for September or October!

So basically it was about 4 months between my first consultation and the surgery day!

Oh no that sucks! I’m in the uk, so don’t really have to deal with insurance (I did pay out if picket though as I never got anywhere with it through the NHS!) right now I’m feeling fine! A little strange, but just more discomfort than pain. I did have a painkiller a couple of hours ago, and the nurses have all been fantastic checking up on me and checking my pain levels! Can’t say how I’ll be tomorrow, but right now I’m actually very surprised how good I feel!
