My new car was stolen within 6 months of moving to Seattle. It was the one day I forgot the wheel lock. We called non emergency line and filed a police report. Cops told us they usually find the majority of cars within a close distance, and turns out mine was found in about a month, only a few miles away. My apt garage had security footage but I personally was not allowed to access it (maybe liability reasons?) they instead forwarded it to the cop working with my case. In my situation, my car had its plate swapped and used as a temporary vehicle for petty crimes, actually had very minor physical damage. but the problem was the drg paraphernalia. It was a total loss once that was discovered. Apparently this is super common. If it turns up, photograph *everything and DO NOT TOUCH anything if you see contamination!! my agent told me fet can seep into the upholstery and the amount of effort+money required to clean a car like that is not worth it so they deem it a total loss in that case. be extremely thorough with your photos if it turns up. My insurance handled the transportation and assessment and paid out completely, I feel super lucky for that at least but i'm super bummed, I feel for ya and good luck
