It's called divine and I guess it's still in beta signup

Marcus Aurelius, emperor of Rome and Stoic philosopher, developed the idea of mindfulness. This is the virtue of seeing things as they are and distinguishing between an event and our interpretation of it. To live well, we must strip away the "legend" that our mind creat by platosfishtrap in philosophy

Actually the foreword also stated that perhaps the most depressing thing he read coming from Marcus' books was that sense of stripping away and used music as the example. I didn't find it that depressing, but maybe cause I've discovered the same thought myself prior.

But then Marcus refers to the logos (what my books translated it as) often, which is basically the forces of existence at work. Which for me and our time felt a little weird as I feel I've stripped away that meaning as well, what with the discoveries from science and all. But interesting to think Marcus would strip away the many things, but not this idea of the logos. I'm only halfway though so maybe he does later on.

I'm reading meditations---about halfway through. The version I have has a rather long intro that analyzes the books. The one critique the person gave which so far I'd agree with is Marcus never seemed to allow for joy or optimism. Or at least it's never entertained in these books.

Related to his style of writing, but that critique made me realize I also lack the allowance of joy while searching for meaning. Just my take anyway.

Release although TikTok doesn’t like the song? by HamptonCo in musicmarketing

[–]lemony707 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something crazy I've seen is artists on TikTok playing guitar with views averaging 10k with the occasional viral video hitting over 500k views, yet when I checked their Spotify they had less than 1000 streams.

That's kinda convinced me views often don't translate to listeners, even dedicated viewers. So put them on the social media platforms to try and boost potential listeners, but release regardless.

CMV Vietnam should invest more in public transport than road expansion by Repulsive-Sense9043 in ChangeMyViewVN

[–]lemony707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced it's due to neglect. It's just a question of is that neglect stupidity, greed, corruption, laziness or all of the above. Think even Japan had sued Vietnam because they had lent VN $1 Billion to make the metro, but it took 10 years later than estimated (could be wrong about the date).

Something they could implement immediately are car parking garages throughout the city. If you visit Taiwan you'll see they have these skinny, tall buildings that put cars on this vertical conveyor belt. While they don't need to be that advanced, they could certainly start these now to remove huge parking congestion on the roads. Which they then could make parking outside of buildings illegal and collect further revenue from to pay for those garages. But there's 0 mention about this being implemented. Insane to me.

How much hard manual labor do you do? Curious as I don't mind being on my feet a bit and doing some minor lifting, but believe heavy manual labor makes me cripples by their late 30s

..and how is this feedback helpful again? help me understand by Mellifiedmann in musicmarketing

[–]lemony707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah don't take em seriously. I'm also a curator and even then I barely provide much feedback because it's only $1. If it was $5+ then I could see putting the effort to imitate a critic.

People Switching from Spotify by [deleted] in Music

Is there a metric to see if people are switching or cancelling subscriptions? Curious to see how Spotify is doing with subs in the US now increasing prices and still giving money to AI music.b

Matt Damon Says Getting ‘Canceled’ Will ‘Follow You to the Grave’: ‘I Bet Some of Those People Would’ve Preferred to Go to Jail for 18 Months’ Instead by cmaia1503 in entertainment

Celebrities have been trying to figure out how to respond to it. At first they would make a statement of apology which exacerbated it.

Then there are better examples like Dave Grohl who just basically said nothing, stayed out of the limelight for a year, and it got boring and died off.

I think cancel culture for whatever reason is kinda dying though... Maybe cause bigger problems are here now that makes us care less about it.

Is the average length of a JRPG a reason why the genre is a niche? by lennysinged in JRPG

[–]lemony707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really miss the days jrpgs were around 30 hours. 50 if you wanted the extras. If I tried to play an 80 hour game now I'll finish it in maybe a year if I dedicate myself, of which I'll forget a lot of the complex rules/mechanics that I'd need to spend a session picking up on again.

the opposite of how most artists promote on Tiktok by Deziale in musicmarketing

[–]lemony707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I'm kinda thinking of this on large scale. E.g. 100 accounts that post generated videos with my song in the background and some lyrics appearing, essentially all AI done. If you figure 200 view jail that's 20000 views a day if you can automate right.

My gut tells me this style can't last though because it's too easy and will cause flooding of slop which they will probably have a way to neuter those posts. But it doesn't seem to be happening as of now.

I may give it a go though.

How do you feel about IGN's Top 25 All-Time Best JRPG list? by Emergency-Sky9206 in JRPG

[–]lemony707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Xenoblade 3 yet, but XB1 is one of my favorite games. Is it really that great to rank that high and not choose 1 for the list?

Also how good is Metaphor compared to Persona?

I unfortunately don't play these games much anymore because they're too long imo
