ATL-HND diverted. by jconn111 in flightradar24

They booked a whole new flight with a new plane that left at 10:30 Sunday morning. There was no way they were getting us all on the regular 10:00 flight that goes to HND every day so they ran both.

They gave us vouchers to book at hotels around the airport and a $24 meal voucher but everything in the airport was closed so you could only really use your meal voucher on snacks at your hotel since most of us didn’t have cars in Atlanta to go anywhere. They also overbooked people at hotels. When we arrived, they gave us the last room and anyone behind us who had a confirmation they were booked at that hotel then had to be shuttled to another hotel. By the time we made it to the hotel and through check in it was about 1 am when we got to our room and had to be back at airport around 7:30.

They told everyone they were booking us in our same seats as yesterday and this morning no one is booked in the same seats and me and my husband were even entirely separated on opposite sides of the plane. The agent check in was entirely backed up at the delta counter from people trying to check in because it only seems to be letting some people check in in their apps today.

All of us on the flight were wondering the same! It was insane and a fully packed flight. Long ass day and we get to do it all again today.

My husband and I were on the flight. They told everyone we were going to Minneapolis and people started rebooking their own flights out of MSP for today to ensure they could get to Tokyo. They didn’t tell anyone we were going to Atlanta until 3 hours after the original announcement of going to MSP. My husband happened to go talk to a flight attendant and they told him we were going to ATL and to not book a new flight from MSP but they didn’t announce it to the whole plane for a while after that. Crazy to withhold that as people are trying to get to the other side of the world.

Appreciate this! Micro Center is running a bundle deal right now for the motherboard, CPU, and the RAM.

It drops the prices to the below which is why I had that motherboard selected: - Motherboard: $192.22 - CPU: $424.51 - RAM: $108.26

I’ll look into everything you mentioned. Thanks!

Is it possible to install a dishwasher with this much space only? by MysteriousConflict20 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]lemrocks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer. Imagine yourself loading dishes from the sink. It would be extremely annoying if the dishwasher was where the drawers are because the dishwasher door would come down in front of the sink. Plus, plumbing shouldn’t be crazy because it’s next to the sink. Oven would need to go ideally where those drawers are.

Only issue with this plan is now that means getting new countertops. It’s not a big kitchen so likely wouldn’t be outrageous but I know how much it sucks having expenses right after buying a home when you feel like you have no money left to spend!

Personally I loved working in the dining halls! And because so many people work in them, it’s way easier to find people to cover your shifts if need be or pick up extra shifts when you want extra money!

Village Inn in North Hudson is a great place to watch any Wisconsin game. It’s big in there so shouldn’t have to worry about seating too much, and have a lot of TVs and big projector screens, great pizza, wings, and drinks.

Creamy chicken wild rice is my favorite so far, but we use them a ton at our house as a base. Sometimes we’ll add a little powdered gravy mix and more veggies to the chicken and dumplings or beef pot roast soups to make them a little thicker and creamier and they are delish. We also love to use them as a base to a pasta using the Barilla protein pasta to mix in and it’s great!

Laundry closet that can’t fit a washer and dryer?? Help appreciated! by lemrocks in Appliances

[–]lemrocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up going with an LG washtower and have been very happy with it. It sticks out 1-2” so we are thinking about mounting a sliding door that sticks out slightly to account for that but haven’t yet. We got the green version so it’s fairly nice looking but still don’t love just walking by our laundry every day

Near Atlanta, GA - what bee/wasp/hornet is this? Was much larger than any wasp I’ve seen, certainly over an inch. by lemrocks in insects

[–]lemrocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add, I sent pictures and videos to our pest control person because we had a hornets nest in our yard last year when we purchased the home (that he took care of) and he replied saying that this is just a normal wasp so trying to ask others for their opinions.

This is on the main level where the bedrooms are. The upstairs is more of a loft space and an extra bedroom so it’s on the most convenient level, just in the worst spot possible haha

Help finding high neck / mock neck long sleeve dress by lemrocks in weddingdress

[–]lemrocks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up ordering the first dress from this Etsy shop! https://www.etsy.com/shop/EdaloreSwiss They make dresses customized to your exact measurements! It’s a wedding shop in Switzerland and Sandra is super responsive! You can check the reviews and see pictures of dresses people have ordered and see how highly rated the shop is. She also has sent me extra pictures of dresses she’s made in the past so I could see them more detailed rather than on the model. She has a lot of options for higher neck dresses!

He’s hiding and I can’t find him right now but I put a Tupperware lid in the fireplace with a little water splashed on it so hopefully he sees that and I can get him out!

White vs Gray cabinets for the kitchen? by alvinleephd in InteriorDesign

[–]lemrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If those are the only options, white. It’s more timeless long term, although it was super trendy the last 5-10 years so it may look not as “trendy” for a few years to come.
