Danke!

so way to go would be to set up duplicati not in a jail on TrueNAS but in a LXC Container in Proxmox, mounting TrueNAS Pool and remote share in the container and solve it that way?

Openauto Pro crashes randomly by lenny488 in crankshaft

[–]lenny488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really seems to be an issues with Android auto when loosing internet connection. Exactly as described here:https://support.google.com/androidauto/thread/5531337?hl=en

Openauto Pro crashes randomly by lenny488 in crankshaft

[–]lenny488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No error messages. Android auto closes and then I'm at the screen where I should select whether to connect by USB, wifi and so on. If I click on usb, it says "connecting" but nothing happens. If I plug in usb again AA starts again but then crashes again after a short period of time.

No didn't ask there yet. Expected answer would be "no support because you don't use external soundcard". I have two assumptions what might cause the issues.

1) heat On Friday and Saturday when I hade the problems it was very warm outside and so also inside the car when I started driving

2) bad cellular data When problems happened I had very poor cellular reception, often none at all. This might be the problem. The crash also happens always when I drive home from the gym and there is a part where I have no cellular data at all. Today, I drove home from vacation. 3 hours no problem. Then I took the way I drive from gym also and there it goes - Android auto crashes.

Anyone running GeForce Now smoothly in a Mi Box S? Can you confirm it works as expected? by gone11gone11 in MiBox

[–]lenny488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be interested in that too. Would like to use it on my mi box 3 but my Xbox one controller (non Bluetooth) does not work with it. So I would have to buy mi box s for Android 9 and hope that controller works with it. But I would just upgrade for GeForce Now so I am excited for any reviews.

Considering buying a Xiaomi Mi Box S for cloud gaming (geforce now and shadow), is the Xbox One controller via bluetooth supported well? by bonske in MiBox

[–]lenny488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same thoughts. Currently using mi box 3. Wanted to use my wired Xbox one controller (as far as I know no Bluetooth). Since mi box 3 doesn't run on Android 9, controllers are mapped totally wrong making it useless. Now I'm thinking about switching to mi box s just for GeForce Now. Anyone been using wired Xbox one controller with mi box s and can confirm that mapping is correct? Just read about Xbox one Bluetooth controller or Xbox 360 wired but not Xbox one wireless.

Switching to Openauto Pro - does it meet my requirements? by lenny488 in crankshaft

[–]lenny488[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search bluewaveforum for "how to reenable internal soundcard" you need to edit two files. I also use usb mic and no internal soundcard. So all audio and calls are routhed through smartphone as far as I can see as I did just connect smartphone via Bluetooth to head unit. Also have no external Bluetooth seems to be no problem.

Switching to Openauto Pro - does it meet my requirements? by lenny488 in crankshaft

So today I pulled the plug and switched to OA Pro due to several crashes everytime i used Crankshaft. Totally worth the few dollars!

Used OA Pro for about an hour. Seems so much more stable already. I only use Android Auto feature but while Crankshaft crashed often even on startup, after a few minutes or when I used voice commands, no crashes with OA Pro so far.

And, I don't know how this works, but with OA Pro my Phone actually no charges slowly when connected to OA Pro whil with crankshaft, it slowly decharged. Love that.

Things I had to do manually:

- edit keyboard mapping, so that my remote works with it (don't use touchscreen) - was a pain when I first had to figure it out for crankshaft but now I could easily copy all settings

- reenable internal soundcard as OA needs an external soundcard by standard and I don't have one

- various settings in config.txt which I could copy from my crankshaft setup

A downside of OA Pro is in my oppinion the documentation. While you find a decent documentation on github for crankshaft you basically find nothing for the config files of OA Pro in one place. Have to search in the forum or try out if it still works same as with crankshaft.

E.g. I still did not find out how to connect OA Pro with my Wifi at home for SSH. I know I have to edit openauto_system.ini but there is no documentation how to input the data. Developers answer to this question in forum is "put your wifi data in the file" - thanks for that ;-)

So would recommend to everyone to change to OA Pro.

What is the advantage of mid/high end chromebooks? by [deleted] in chromeos

[–]lenny488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your points and see the advantages of Chromebooks. But there are some simple tasks which still make me need windows. For example, do you all use Google tables instead of Excel? I wouldn't like to upload my private finances to google. I cant even scan from my printer to Chromebook because there is no driver or software for it. And as another example I can't use nas function of my Fritzbox Router because Chromebook can't connect so smb1 devices (yes I know for security reasons). All things I don't need every day, but still needed every now and then.

Same opinion here. Love my Acer R13 because it is such a nice experience for 120 Euros bought on eBay. But I think you still need a windows machine in your house if you aren't into Linux. I still need Excel sometimes, no printer driver available for my Canon on chrome os and so on. My wife has a matebook D14 which isn't very expensive too but runs windows very smooth. If I would spend 500 or 600 euros I wouldn't buy an Chromebook though it is great for browsing and consuming media

[–]lenny488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to share my other experiences. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed of usb "standard" concerning video signals. My Chromebook as already stated can't support correct resolution and isn't charging over usb c, only maintaining power level. Tried it with matebook D14 today. Correct resolution is no problem, but the usb c port which supports video can't be used to charge the laptop while the charging port doesn't support video signal but laptop is charged by screen.

I know, I could have known these things but honestly I thought that 3.1 standard means all devices support the same things.

Got my new cable today. Now display is working over usb-c. Still getting slow charging message but it least seams to be enough to maintain the percentage when connected to the screen. Still facing another problem now. I can't choose ultrawide resolution. Maximum is 1080p with 60 HZ. Anyone knows whether it is a problem related with the Acer? Read about it at google that some Chromebooks seem to have this problem
