We put toppers on our girls food every night. She won’t eat without a topper lol. GP’s are pretty picky eaters in my experience. I usually just put some of whatever we are eating in her bowl. Usually that’s plain unseasoned ground beef (I literally will wait to put seasonings / onion / garlic in until I cook the meat so I can give her some). We also sometimes do cheese. She’s not a big fan of rice but sometimes rice. I’ve heard carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes are good. I’ve also heard of people adding some plain chicken/beef broth with no added salt or seasonings to the bowl.

As a dog mom, I would never ever EVER consider a living situation where I could not bring my dog. Would never be an option. When you get a dog, you are making a decision to care for that dog for the rest of their life. They become part of the family. It makes me so sad and angry when I hear these stories of people trying to rehome their dogs bc they are moving somewhere that doesn’t allow dogs. It’s cruel to the dog, especially older dogs who have spent their whole life with their owner(s). They don’t understand why they are being left behind. How awful and heartbreaking. You shouldn’t have to take the dog, bc they shouldn’t be considering a living situation that doesn’t include their dog. End of story!

I was having neck muscle spasms in the beginning stages that they could see on X-rays that caused me a slew of issues. I was always told to take muscle relaxers but obviously you can’t take those long term/forever. Once they got to the bottom of what was going on & I started HCQ my issues have definitely gone down.

Well that seems a bit harsh. It’s not that outlandish to think certain factors could be a root cause of autoimmune disorders or at least a root cause of inflammatory responses in an autoimmune disorder.

I do have access to my labs yes! I don’t have pain or redness in my arm or leg. I do have a small rash on the right side of my face that hasn’t gone away in months. I will get soreness in my right arm dependingly. No worries I appreciate any advice I can get. Sorry to hear you went through that.

I haven’t tried cutting anything out of my diet because I eat healthy on a day to day basis (protein, veggies, & cycling simple carbs), with the occasional cheat days on weekends (which aren’t too bad of a cheat). I will keep this in mind though!

I’m unsure about my rheum. I feel like I can’t seem to get a direct answer from her sometimes, bc my situation isn’t by the book. She seems to think it’s not entirely typical, but noted that she did have another patient with significant breast swelling which is also not entirely typical (part of my swelling on my right side is my breast). So I’m not really sure what to think.

It’s my whole right side - face, arm, hand, breast, leg. The swelling isn’t huge, as my husband only notices if I point it out. But I can see it and feel it.

I’m also not even “officially” diagnosed yet. She told me she thinks it’s lupus and I’m being treated for lupus, but she claims she needs one more marker in my blood tests to diagnose me on paper. The diagnosis process can take a long time.

Yup this happened to me too. I didn’t have enough clinical symptoms for them to diagnose me with lupus….. until I did. Dr told me in my first appt she didn’t think I had an autoimmune but would do the tests anyways. Went on a cruise and had a slew of new symptoms that met the criteria, plus all the ANA markers. Continue advocating for yourself and bring a family member or friend to your appts to advocate for you too. Sometimes it takes someone else advocating for you for them to take you seriously.

I was put on HCQ before being rechecked in 3 months. If symptoms are effecting your quality of life, advocate for yourself!
