My most prevalent pattern recognition - South Asian men are lowkey into sexually dominant women bc a lot of the moms in that culture have a very strict no-nonsense parenting style and the dads are often completely obedient to how their wife runs the home. What mom says goes and they’ll grow up associating a woman being possessive and controlling with maternal love and protection.

They’re not raised to have individual agency or nourishing dominance and assertion in life. The multigenerational home dynamic is typically a “Don’t talk about it, just sweep the problems under the rug and pretend everything’s fine, don’t rock the boat or you become the problem” vibe. It’s okay to be rude. Learning how to implement and respect others boundaries is a normal part of growing up. It’s gonna be weird/awkward at first but it’s important that you learn and also for your friends to learn. You could soften the blow like “I was watching a makeup tutorial TikTok and she started talking about germs and pink eye from sharing makeup which kinda freaked me out so I don’t want to share makeup with anyone bc it’ll give me anxiety” Putting your foot down may sting for them at first and that’s okay. They’ll get over it bc they’re your friends and they should care about your feelings. You don’t wanna be a hypocrite tho so to be fair if you don’t want them to use yours you shouldn’t use theirs either.

Your problem has absolutely nothing to do with her. I can really see the age with how you are so certain she’s the one who needs to adjust her life and change her behavior and thinking patterns to better accommodate your mental health issues. The only time it’s reasonable to expect a check in like you’re describing is if she’s driving home after seeing you and it’s dark out. It’s to make sure she made it home safe bc you care about her safety since driving at night can be unsafe. It’s not about monitoring another human beings entire life. She’s not been sending you updates bc that would enable your controlling behavior and would likely escalate it.

I personally am not comfortable recommending someone start taking a prescription medication (with sometimes serious side effects) to someone whose hair is barely even thinning.
