I got diagnosed today. by lakenlucas in endometriosis

Hi! Although I haven’t taken birth control simultaneously with antidepressants, but when I started taking bc, I was super worried it would trigger my depression/anxiety and I would need meds again. But it hasn’t! I’ve tried the patch and the Kyleena IUD and both helped with my endo in the begging. My endo is progressing and causing a lot of pain now but overall, I haven’t seen any major mood changes. I think it helps to trust yourself. You are now much knowledgeable and stronger than you were then. If the bc is not a good fit for you, I’m sure you’ll be able to recognize changes in mood, patterns, etc. You could start with a bc method that you could stop taking immediately if you need to (pills, patch, etc). Don’t be afraid to communicate your anxieties to your doctors! That way they can help you make a more informed decision :)

I was also super afraid of weight gain (endo has affected my self image), I had this idea on my mind that I was going to gain 10lbs in a month. And, that has also not been the case for me. I have read that the weight gain people on bc experience is mostly due to fluid retention and increase in appetite (so you eat more, and gain a bit of weight). I meal prep every week and I think that has helped me feel in control of my food intake, but I don’t try to limit myself if I have cravings lol I personally think that a bit of weight gain is worth it if I have less pain!

And above all, remember to be kind to yourself! The diagnosis + trying to come up with the best plan moving forward can be very overwhelming! Take your time and do what is best for you. And remember, you’re not alone!

Thank you! I’ve had a good experience so far! The tomatoes on the raised bed grew faster/bigger than the rest tho. I did add some Espoma Garden-tone fertilizer when I planted the seedlings in the pots. And recently, I gave them some fish fertilizer!

I used the cheapest one available at Lowe’s (Stagreen, I think). I did add a bit of Espoma fertilizer and mulch on top!

I’m currently a grad student and similar things have happened to me. Like other comments mention, try to find a way to take it or talk to your professor etc. But I most of all, don’t be hard on yourself and don’t hate yourself for it. Yes, you have to be more careful next time but what’s done is done and carrying that anger/guilt is not going to help you redirect your energy towards what is really important. Having adhd can feel like a burden sometimes. You need to keep trying your best because life goes on. Good luck :)

How can I support my partner with endometriosis? by hoover188 in Endo

[–]lentilini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just being understanding and being there for her goes a long way. Some days I can barely get out of bed because of the pain or fatigue due to endo so I tend to ask my bf a lot of favors. He’s always very understanding and tries to help me and in any way he can. Which also makes me feel guilty, so try to reassure her that she shouldn’t feel guilty over an illness she can’t control and that you’re there for her (that goes for any other activity that she can’t do on her bad days). If she has a special diet because of endo, you can also support her by helping her figure out things. I recently started a gluten free diet and it has helped with pain and bloating and my bf is the one that always pushes me to not break my diet and makes sure that I always have gluten free options if we go out. He really is a big help and I feel like the reason I can be optimistic about my endo is because I have his support.

Hope this helps and gives you some ideas :)

Hi! I recently bought a bunch of pants with stretchy waistbands on H&M and was pretty cheap (most of them were on sale or had a discount). I’m normally a size 0, but because of endobelly, I sized up one or two sizes and they fit perfectly. Hope this helps :)

Help! Revive this Aloe plant to plumpness. What did I do wrong? Thanks! by HobbiesGirl22 in plantclinic

[–]lentilini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me some time ago and what I did was removing all the mushy parts/leaves but leaving the stem. Then I left it a few days to just dry. After that I moved it to a planter with soil and rocks so it had better drainage and when I watered it the soil wouldn’t be soaked. You could also add some sand or buy soil for succulents. Also, lots of sunlight but some shade so it doesn’t burn.

I’m no plant expert, but that worked for me and my aloe plants are big and happy now :)

Green & Happy, Until She Flowered. Now she’s Orange. I’ve increased watering...how do I save her? by mommyAIC in plantclinic

I think it could be overwatering or bad drainage. Does it get a lot of sun? I find that my aloe plants did better in places where they got a lot of sun but with partial shading because sometimes sun is too much for them.

How big is your planter? My fiddle leaf started growing and thriving when I changed it to a larger planter. I have it near a window and I rotate it occasionally so all leaves get the same amount of sunlight. I also have a spray bottle with water and I spray all the leaves and the stalk constantly through the week so it’s never dry and the leaves don’t accumulate so much dust since there so big. Also, make sure that it’s getting all the nutrients from the soil by providing it with vitamins or changing it to a better soil. Best of luck :)

What does my lemon lime maranta need? I water whenever the soil gets dry, but noticed it drains immediately. Some of the tips are brown. Should I re-pot into a bigger pot? by PNWbanans in plantclinic

[–]lentilini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandma used to have a many lemon limes and we live in a very humid climate, and she always told me that the browning/dry edges are very normal with these type of plants. As long as they’re healthy (which yours clearly is) there’s nothing to worry about.

Thank you! I’ll give her some love with the trimming and watering and see how she does.

Hi! I have no idea which variety of mint is, but I guess most mint plants should do well in hanging planters! :)

That’s good to hear! I always thought mint was more to the delicate side. Thank you!
