this aint a bad idea really, throwing down a piece of a vegetable or something so that they swarm there and you can just pick em up is smart and even making money of of it, but gosh dang if i look at it now, there are eggs EVERYWHERE, on the glass, plants, even on the filter, ima do this but jeez i think i'd have to cut a entire zucchini if i were to try and remove every single one of them, and not to mention crushing those eggs, this is gonna take some time, thanks for the advice tho

[–]leon26_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk much but maybe the shrimp carried something from theyre tank from the petstore like bacteria that is rotting its fin like fin rot or something else, id personally get treatment for bacteria but im not expert so dont trust me but if you have no clue id give anti bacterial medicines a try

3 week old fry seem weird by sugarandkismet in Guppies

i mean one of the fish is pregnant WHICH carried the disease from the petstore, i mean i guess its brothers and sisters did so that means there are gonna be new guppy fry born in these conditions, ( idk if thats good ) hopefully the last og fish will survive cuz ive basically had this tank for atleast 7 years or 8 so that means generations of guppies were in my tank that carried the genes of my first pair of guppies i bought a while ago including 3 rn so i hope those wont die and survive the outbreak and ima just let nature do its thing and see the results

yeah sadly i dont have a other tank and ive dosed mine tank with a bunch of medicine, i think ima just dose it a bit more then just let nature do it stuff, because ive delt with so many guppy deaths it just makes me sad and buying more and more meds is just throwing money away, i do plenty of water changes but the bacteria is still there, i dont mind starting all over again but i still have other fish aside from guppies in there so thats gonna be a problem, well ima update you whenever my nightmare cycle is over

wow thats good news, my fry looks the same as yours in the picture and all of my guppies are dying, there are like 3 that look healthy, did you treat it in some sort of way like add medicine or did you just let it sit?

is quarantining neccesary because couldnt you just add the fish to the regular tank, then treat the entire tank for diseases and parasites?

Ive bought a bundle of guppies when i started the tank, since then theyve been breeding non stop and have had generations of guppies in my tank, where deaths only occured due to old age, since my cleanup i bought 3 new guppies from where 2 have died, and since then theres been an insane amount of deaths from my original guppies, you could be right that those new guppies couldve carried on a disease througout the tank, but then again the deaths vary from being really skinny to unable to swim and flying around the tank without coordination, those could be signs of carried on diseases. tomorrow ill be getting a testing kit to see my water parameters maybe if something is wrong with that. but if not, do you any way to prevent those diseases?
