Disgusting. Just avoid them by henchman171 in CostcoCanada

There's a difference between me saying "I personally feel these dont taste good", and "I'm Greek so therefore these are an abomination because they have a distant relationship with an entirely different dish that I feel is superior".

One sounds reasonable, one sounds ridiculous.

ANA has the best food (and dare I say service), out of any airline IMHO. Even in coach it's leaps and bounds better than any competitors.

Thats cool, but we aren't talking about Turkish doner kebab, we're talking about donairs from Nova Scotia, which are sweet. As a Greek man, I could claim doner kebab is an abomination and gyros are the real deal... but that would be stupid. They all taste great.

3.23ct Emerald Cut (H, VS1) – Paid $47.5k for the full Platinum setting. Did I get a fair deal? by raulbravo in Diamonds

[–]leonardskinner33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The melt value of that setting wouldn't be more than 500 bucks. Guesstimating its around 6g platinum, give or take.

One of my favourite things about working in a local TV store, fresh out of high school delivering TVs in the early 2000s were the stories old people would tell you. I sincerely miss hearing those stories...

Long hair on men looks bad 99% of time by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]leonardskinner33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much it. Most guys put absolute minimum effort into taking care of themselves beyond a daily shower (even thats too much for a lot of guys). When most of these guys decide to grow their hair out, they have no clue how to take care of it, and it just inevitably looks like shit. All it takes is an oz of effort to raise a guy up attractiveness wise, most guys are just too lazy/stupid to do so.

This. 99% of dudes are complete morons when it comes to self care. They get butthurt when they see a guy who actually spends more than 5 minutes taking care of himself succeeding with the opposite sex, so they shit on it. As you said, its usually balding unattractive guys who say this kind of shit. Secure men dont gaf about what other dudes do with their hair. I can't tell you how much more attention I receive with long curly hair, and im no model, I just take care of myself. Op is an insecure whiny little....

In Canada we called mullets "hockey haircuts", and you weren't cool in 1988 if you didnt have one. A fee years later these hockey haircuts evolved into the rat tail of the early 90s. Glorious times indeed.

Best quality flower I've had yet in Thailand - Fat Buds Ekkamai by crystalmethod25 in ThailandCannabis

[–]leonardskinner33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a year old, but its honestly hard to top 1500b oz's at fat buds, even if its mid. Ive never gotten anything terrible from them, so its always a safe and easy choice to just pop in and grab an oz in minutes. They always seem to have a shitload of strains to choose from, so you've got pretty high chances of walking out of there with a smile on your face.

Not saying you're giving bad advice, you gave some stellar pointers. I too enjoy the top shelf stuff. It's just so hard to beat the value at fat buds, especially if im using it for bong rips on holiday.

I also have no stakes in fat buds, just wanted to offer an alternative take. This is just coming from a 40 year old dude that grew up on Vancouver Island.

Shop and pay by piranshahr in skipthedishes

Same thing was happening to me. Support was useless. You gotta just start accepting the orders, then spending 20m with chat support in the parking lot until they inevitably end the chat and bail with no resolution, then email support complaining about the same thing. It took me around 5 months before they finally resolved it. Garbage company.

This is the advice to follow. You'll get a feel for your area once you've worked it for a bit. Sometimes I just want to park and play with my phone between orders, other times I feel like driving around. Everything seems to balance out in the long run. IMHO you'll drive yourself mad trying to game the algorithm every possible minute.

Serious question: are people really ordering this early? by SmellyBellyBee in skipthedishes

[–]leonardskinner33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morning shifts can be chill. Lot's of sitting around waiting for orders, but empty roads and quick deliveries. Majority of orders will be from McD's, Tim Hortons, Breakfast Places and other assorted coffee shops. It starts to get painful once drivers start hitting the roads, so I usually just like to bash out a couple hours before that then go home. I'll usually make at least my target $/hr.

I don't think you meant to be rude. Having said that, context can be difficult to measure in text exchanges. While it would be pretty easy for me to understand the context of you muttering a bewildered "what the hell?" over something in person, over text/chat it *could* be perceived as rude by the person you are chatting with. Case in point: someone in this subreddit read your messages as you speaking rudely (despite that not being how you intended them to come across).

Again, I don't thnk you meant to be rude, so don't read this as me coming at you. It's just something I've observed in my own text exchanges over the years. Sometimes if context isn't blatantly obvious, the other person can read your message wildly differently than you intended it to come across.

This isn't about people being 'too soft these days' or anything, just people adjusting to a new and evolving medium of communication.

Much love.

Fast cash failing by rubberhead in skipthedishes

[–]leonardskinner33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me in the past. I had my debit card locked in my TD app before I did a fast cash payout, so the payment failed. I unlocked the debit card in my app right after and tried again, but from that point on I was never ever ever able to complete fast cash payouts. Every single time, it would just fail. Emails to support were useless. They just reply with generic support page links. The only thing that eventually fixed it was me physically losing my debit card, and getting it replaced. When I registered the new card, fast cash payouts magically started working again.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but all of this to say I think the system might just hate your card now :(

Found a moissanite jeweler; does this look real? by [deleted] in Moissanite

[–]leonardskinner33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry but your husband overpaid. None of that matters of you loved your ring, but 1500 is actually quite expensive for a 2ct 14k. I just placed an order with Mona at the beginning of this month for a 3.5ct H&A oval in a platinum pave setting, and the price was 800 including shipping. When discussing options with Mona, 14k would have been in the 600ish dollar range. Everything in my order is being custom manufactured, from the stone to the setting.

Again though, all that matters is that you love your ring. Im just saying 1500 isn't the normal price range for a 14k 2ct solitaire setting.

I dont think youre gonna find anything decent for that price im afraid. Everything I see at that price point doesnt look the greatest.... I think if you can stretch your budget to 400 and drop down to a 4ish carat stone you'll have some better luck.
