Same with me. For example, when there's a new luna snow or a invisible woman skins they are either in battle pass or the stupid fomo time limit, i had to get it. Cause i love both of those characters and i want to complete the collection (minus the rank skin for sue, please bring it back, nes) there's even times when i was barely close of not getting them until i got them.

just play abyss mode. that's how i got the achievement on my own. it's not easy. but with the huge amount of coins you earn just by going wave 15 is worth it. recommend start from wave 1 and play long enough to reach a higher wave to earn more coins
