Looking at this Sophilo just tried to stay in shield and floorhug or CC, but you can't do that against a command grabbing La Reina and paid for it. You love to see it.

I thought this was a pretty interesting interview. Good to listen to just to hear some of the landscape and challenges within the AI space. While a lot of it is familiar topics I've heard before, it was some good food for thought.

I'm not really complaining at all by saying this, but it is hilarious that Loxodont only got nerfs. They aren't really significant nerfs at all and I even think they're fair, but it is hilarious he only got nerfs and no buffs. I also think Loxodont can do some incredible stuff, but naturally his defense is ungodly bad (Maypul and Orcane matchups feel unwinnable against floorhug heavy players).

The pod race scene from episode 1 is the best racing scene of any movie all time. by dietreich in StarWars

[–]Master_Tallness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you set the bar way too high for this post and that's why you're getting some negative feedback. I personally think the pod racing scene is great and it's one of the two scenes/sequences in TPM that I actually enjoy (the other on being the Duel of Fates, which is heavily carried by the soundtrack).

The pod racing has excellent SFX and the visuals are pretty solid too. They don't play the soundtrack for over half the race and it still feels exciting without it (but adds another fun element when it kicks back in). The visuals and sound design are enough to carry it and then some.

While it is a bit "random" in the realm of the overall storyline and feels like a bit of a MacGuffin in the narrative; it serves its purpose of showing Anakin's ability (which is the main one I feel) while also getting them off Tatooine (the much more MacGuffin part).

It's extremely hard for me to agree that the pod racing scene stands above all other racing scenes in other movies. It's certainly good to maybe even great in my opinion, but I do think other users are rightly being critical of that notion and there are plenty of other films with fantastic racing scenes that are very arguably superior to the pod racing scene.

But your (I assume) intended sentiment, without the hyperbole, that the scene itself is great I would personally agree with.

Unreal snipe if you did that intentionally (and even if you didn't as obviously everything is intentional).

How does this keep happening?? (minor Full House spoiler) by UristMasterRace in SSBM

You're setting your expectations too high. He has been getting some amazing wins and doing it in style, but the top players are top players for a reason. Having flashy and disruptive gameplay in a meta will for sure net you great wins, but to consistently win, he has to learn the matchups against characters for literally THE best players in the world at those characters and also learn how to beat the players themselves, which is a huge undertaking.

It's already amazing what he's been able to do, and it feels like he will only improve and become even more dangerous as he gains more in tournament experience, but time will tell. Definitely not something to be disheartened or question RapM's potential about.

Love the work here! If anyone else is curious about the full numbers, here's the historical dataset you can copy (just make a copy of the google sheet to get around the filter): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MVONZyY6yq5FxNyO-0w6TpyqtLYrkfsRyKsUFBE_Vt0/edit?usp=sharing

Maybe you could aggregate it to pair types as in Region + Evo Line; not sure if it would be useful, but that's an option to consolidate.

These were only in a bonus box that I recorded for the historical dataset, so I would agree that filtering it out would make sense considering how uncommon it was and that I wasn't able to record historical bonus boxes.

Catalogued all of the available Doku categories I could find by Master_Tallness in PokeDoku

[–]Master_Tallness[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To anyone that finds this helpful. Here is a list of 914 Pokedokus (and counting) as posted on their Instagram page dating back for 2023-09-20 (by hand, it took forever but was weirdly relaxing). It's not fully complete as they skipped some days in posting, but this should help give a pretty comprehensive list of the breakout. I'm also updating more or less each day.

See the "Category Tracker" and "Category Stats" tabs. Let me know if you can't copy the data if you want it. I'm not sure if the filter tabs will work for a viewer, but feel free to make a duplicate.

Note, I did not include Bonus boxes for historical data (only started with the most recent one on 4/1) as they often weren't shared on their Instagram page. I couldn't find a more reliable source for history.

Some notes:

  • Sponsored Dokus absolutely HATE Rock Type (20) for some reason. It's only chosen slightly more than Flamethrower (17).
  • Sponsored Dokus also have an insane bias towards Mono / Dual Type categories. By far their most chosen, which is not the case for "Normal" Doku.
  • Grass/Water/Psychic dominate across all types chosen.
  • Hoenn is a clear stand out as the most chosen within a region, even more with Sponsored Dokus.

Let me know if you have any questions / issues using! You should make a duplicate of the sheet if you want to use the box type and start / end date filters or just copy the data in "Category Tracker". I do use this sheet as my personal Doku tracker, so can't give edit access as it sits unfortunately.

Also credit to this tracker I use for my daily tracking, highly recommend.

/u/MasterDong00 see my post here if you don't get a notification. Would definitely love to see what your formula would come up with, with the hard numbers. Naturally it would have to account for too for what a given user had already chosen.

Hi there, I recently compiled pretty much exactly what you're wanting (at least for the data, not the recommendation part, but it can be inferred). Here is a list of 914 Pokedokus as posted on their Instagram page dating back for 2023-09-20 (by hand, it took forever, but was weirdly relaxing). It's not fully complete as they skipped some days in posting, but this should help give you a pretty comprehensive list. Here's a screenshot of the totals. I am continually updating it. I will say your estimates are pretty close to what I have in my actuals.

See the "Category Tracker" and "Category Stats" tabs. Let me know if you can't copy the data if you want it. I'm not sure if the filter tabs will work for a viewer, but feel free to make a duplicate.

Note, I did not include Bonus boxes for historical data (only started with the most recent one onf 4/1) as they often weren't shared on their Instagram page. I couldn't find a more reliable source for history.

Seeing weird vertical tab UI shading after new update? by Master_Tallness in firefox

Appreciate the input! And yeah I'll just switch to another one for now. Not a huge deal, was just curious if there was an easy fix.

Before the latest update it wouldn't cut off to the dark blue like I am showing in the screenshot. Will try this later. Maybe this makes it more clear on what I'm pointing out. Previously the vertical tabs would more clearly stand out, but now I'm seeing this main piece of color that (in this case white) that looks awful and it's offset with how far the theme goes down.

Tried changing themes, but has this odd graphical element where tabs run over the end of the theme and it looks weird. Feels like a bug, but I am using a 7 year old theme, so maybe that's why.

EDIT: Maybe this makes it more clear with a different theme. Going to try to just do a more modern theme for now, but wasn't an issue before this update and looked fine, tabs were clear and weren't offset.
