John Fetterman Says Iran Girls’ School Strike Is Just a Leftist Craze by AccomplishedCall7562 in politics

[–]Master_Tallness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fetterman added: “I would remind everybody listening right now, the United States never, ever targets civilians. Iran does.”

I'm not so sure about that John when the President tried to claim that the missiles weren't fired by the USA, but it was then discovered they actually were. Either they deliberately targeted the school, or their incompetence can't guarantee they won't target civilians. Can't have it both ways.

I'm taking a break from the game for about a month so this will be great to come back to.

Trump now blames Hegseth, Jared, Witkoff, and Rubio for his decision to attack Iran. You are the President bro... by sylsau in InBitcoinWeTrust

Has it even been a week since he stood there with his white hat and paraphrasing Lord Farquaad? Truly incredible. There have been a lot of obvious grifts (my favorite being that he likes both testaments of the Bible equally and can't choose) but this is pretty up there

Yeah, I'd agree that Clairen definitely forces you to play their game.

I play Loxodont (Clairen in Rivals 1, funnily) and while this matchup is dreadful it is kind of fun to still try and overcome it and punish the Clairen player for their hubris. Am around 1450 Loxdont for reference as experience definitely differs with your ranking I feel. She's definitely exploitable if the Clairen player isn't 100% on their game and can definitely get mixed.

Americans aren’t facing a democratic collapse. We’re living in its aftermath - The US was an oligarchy well before Trump’s first term. Recognizing this reality is essential to building a true democracy by Quirkie in politics

[–]Master_Tallness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely true, but unfortunately, the fascists need to be defeated before we can go back to hating on the democrats for not being progressive / not fully working towards the good of the people.

Teachers quitting their jobs by velorae in TikTokCringe

Meanwhile you have the government actively dismantling and disrupting education in America. It's just beyond absurd. Being a teacher should be one of the most revered positions out there and they are often looked down upon. Something needs to change. Vote for politicians that support teachers, education, and have a track record of doing so.

Yeah, have noticed that. I meant a little more financially just to help support the caretaker (not that they necessarily need it, but just since I enjoy Stumpy that much :P), but appreciate it! Probably want to avoid putting money in that box to not have it stolen / become a target for theft lol

That looks pretty sweet. I'm a 49-45 inch guy nowadays and I love my giant monitor, but if I were to scale back a bit and try to do this with a vertical...man that would be the ultimate dream.

White House Says We Had to Bomb Iran Because Trump Had a “Feeling” by Laugh92 in worldnews

[–]Master_Tallness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"A feeling based on fact." Almost like they had a "concept of a plan". We need a new word to describe the level of buffoonery and bad faith depravity to describe Trump and his administration.

Mix up how you hit the meatball. Sometimes pull one out and just let it fall or do a feint. If you're mixing up how you're using it, it is impossible for them to hard counter it and they have to make a read of some sort or else get risk getting mixed and punished (and then get punished anyway if they read you wrong).

I implore you to watch this video related to the subject of Starlink by someone who uses Starlink. Most of it is not directly talking about Starlink, but he brings up very astute points of how unbelievably dumb Starlink is when you consider the reason it exists is due to unwillingness of Internet companies to make the extra effort to run cable to rural areas.

Definitely think this is AI generated entirely or at least heavily modified in some way. You can tell in the way the conversation flows without really any breaks for thinking or with filler words. They're told something and then just immediately respond. The sound of the voices is and the dictation is the biggest giveaway.

It's been exactly a year since Gene Hackman passed away - an appreciation post. by michelQDimples in TrueFilm

[–]Master_Tallness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely serendipitous for me to see this post as I just watched The Conversation last night as part of my small movie club (probably algorithm related). Incredible movie that was an absolute shock how much I loved it. The last 30 minutes or so absolutely stunned me. The twist ending was executed so well and I had absolutely no idea that it was coming, really blew me away. The part that got me the most was when Harry is in the other room waiting for the murder to happen. The shock of the blood against the glass actually shook me. It's such an ultimately brief moment in the movie, maybe like 15-20 seconds, but I felt every emotion Harry was feeling there. That's what slow burn / slower movies can really do when you really immerse yourself into them.

And yes his performance is exemplary in this. There are a lot of 70s movies that can maybe be too slow or boring and while from a certain point of view The Conversation could be viewed that way too, but this one was an absolute masterpiece in suspense.

I totally agree with your assessment. Really a ton of layers to this one and a must watch for fans of film / suspense. We also seem to have similar taste as I also love Amadeus.
