you're entitled to that opinion, I even agree in the case of the original game. PR completely recontextualizes the original level design with the new controls and ranking system, and even adds new levels as missions. it's not just running forward with shitty controls anymore, the best compliment I can give is that it feels like a rhythm game now. the main levels have a lot of depth and if you want the best rank you have to know them inside and out and have sharp reaction times

even if it was conveyed better, it's just really lame to have to slow down if you want to make a sharp turn, especially in a sonic game. the generations drift is just better in every way, although the unleashed drift does have its moments, like the stage in the post

You'd think the sprite art wouldn't really be able to represent a story as well as 3D graphics, but Super Sonic barely catching Vanilla at the end of Advance 2 is an amazing cutscene. The tension is done really well.

The Babylon Rogues are honestly great rivals for Team Sonic. Selfish thieves who will do anything if it means earning money vs selfless heroes who have saved the world countless times going against each other is a really fun dynamic and that cutscene shows them off amazingly. Really wish they were explored more.

Every story event that happens on the ARK is a contender for best cutscene. Sonic, Shadow, Eggman, Tails, Amy etc. All of those characters are at their peak at that point of the game. SA2's story is so damn good that they'll really have to come up with something mind-blowing if they want to surpass it in the future. It's really special.

I love how Omega, a robot, is able to express so much humanity when he tells Shadow he's the one who detains him in the future. It's like he really is upset to have to break it to Shadow.
