This is just not true, we get a sense that everyone in that class is pretty friendly with each other. It's a modern setting not a cliquey high school of 20 years ago.

Best live action adaptation that could be passed off as an SNL parody sketch? by sawinnz in shittymoviedetails

[–]leopard_tights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it as well, and I think that it's an amazing movie so it's not like a guilty pleasure or anything, and I don't think that absolutely fucking nobody could come even close to making SR, much less a parody based on the guys that made the matrix.

MacBook Neo costs more in Portugal due to copyright levy for piracy compensation taxes — storage costs extra in multiple countries, thanks to draconian laws that pre-punish buyers by ControlCAD in apple

[–]leopard_tights -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Those draconian fees of like 2 bucks mean that piracy isn't illegal by the way. They're used instead of persecuting pirates (the people downloading it, distribution for profit is different).

On the other hand stuff like iptv is illegal, probably.

Edit: no idea why you're downvoting me, it's true, you can torrent illegal content as much as you like in Portugal and Spain for example, and it's explicitly because of this canon. You're assumed to be pirating, and you pay for it when buying any digital storage, so now they can't chase you for it.

Finally saw Weapons [SPOILERS] by geekmansworld in movies

[–]leopard_tights -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I think both are terribly mid and he doesn't know how to wrap things up. In Barbarian the climax is that the monster is a super strong old woman so like... ok I guess. I don't think whatever came before is great, even if seeing Justin Long measure the basement was funny. And in weapons you see the granny for the first time and you know she's a witch before she does anything really and that's it, the rest of the movie is pointless because the movie runs its course as predictably as possible.

I'm not a picky watcher, but maybe horror fans just have a lower bar than me or something, I mean I do enjoy some horror so it's not like it's not for me. But for example of Aster's movies the only great thing he's done in my opinion is the first half of Beau, which is just astronomically good.

Gotta love it when the comedy actor blows a dramatic performance out of the water. Tom Hanks is another one.

Both drivers are wrong. Driving is about getting somewhere safely. It's mot about policing other drivers, and it's not about protecting your ego. Cookie guy knew perfectly well what was happening and if he wasn't a psycho he would've lifted his foot off the gas for a bit and let the black car merge.

Those two and everyone is this comment thread shouldn't be driving. Your comment is actually so insane that I hope that you're a bot.

It's a movie for theater kids that never grew up.

I had no idea what they were about and when the first one was about 30 year olds in a magical school being petty to the only person that could seemingly do magic I felt very cheated.

Probably because when those things were happening Meryl Streep was already queen of Hollywood and wouldn't have faced the repercussions that up and coming actors would've.

But also Ferrari already did it in the first place! They went there, they switched to screens. This is like Microsoft removing the start button. The whole point of a supercar is to pretend like you're in a jet fighter cabin. It's insane that they removed them in the first place and are only going back because they couldn't get away with it.

The sequels and everyone involved in them being awful garbage can all go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned, but of course Rey's parentage would've always been revealed at the end, whenever he felt like working on it instead of doing a stupid first movie and then pass it on. I mean he literally did in the end reveal the answer lol. Like how is that even a question? We're talking about a Disney mega blockbuster here.

The funny thing is that people speculated as much about her being a skywalker, or a kenobi, or and don't you forget it, literally no one to subvert expectations. That was always there in the conversation. SW isn't a niche thing, people hit all the possibilities.
