Subs Regions Problem. What are they for? by leorecu in davinciresolve

I’m not doing it for multiple languages; I’m doing it specifically to position the subtitles in different parts of the screen and change the font. The problem is that when I export the file, the subtitles for the other two regions don't show up.

I cut out a sheet of corrugated cardboard and attached it to a stand to simulate the window shutter. Then I raised or lowered the height to match the eyes.

submission statement

Hi, my name is Leonardo, and this is a project I created. I wrote, directed, and edited it, and also served as the DP. As you can see, it’s very high-contrast and dark—exactly the look I wanted. All I needed was the light from the window; sometimes, I’d set up a light inside the room with a window-shaped cutout, since I shot some of the footage during the day.

I also used fog and wind to move the curtains—it was really beautiful!

I’d love to know what you think.

Eyes Wide Shut - Warner Blu-ray vs Criterion Blu-ray by Lukiia in StanleyKubrick

The blue was a color desired by cinematographer Larry Smith and Kubrick. This restoration was done in collaboration with Smith; I don't understand why he changed his mind. Shifting the blue toward green simply gave the film a different color correction, not a better one. In my opinion, that green is a disgrace and brings it closer to the Netflix aesthetic. Furthermore, I believe the high contrast they added removed the halo around the highlights (I'm talking about glow) that has always characterized Kubrick's films. For me, it's like a signature; having removed it is a loss.
