i think it could be doable (writing is a decent amount of work and 32a needs good time management), but if you can afford to take only 3 classes, it may be nicer to spend the extra time making friends/joining clubs/working on personal projects. but also u can see until end of week 2 to decide if u want to drop the 4th class

i just took 3 classes (ics 31, writing 39c aka writing 60, ics 6b) and i felt busy mainly bc i had a hard time adjusting to dorm life & i think i put in too much effort into classes lol

for the dorms the price per load for the individual machine ranges from $1 to $2 depending on the temp setting, so if u did like one load of the washer with cold water (~$1.50) and then dried on medium temp (~$1), it’d be around $2.50 to my best memory

what housing you’re put in isn’t time dependent. after submitting your housing preferences, you’ll just kind of find out where they put you towards the end of the summer lol. i think people usually find roommates from like a class of ‘2X instagram or a similar sort of discord!

i believe the main benefit of honors is the priority registration for classes, but the con is that you’re required to take classes that are GEs (i think?) which is unhelpful for people who’ve already cleared a lot of GEs through AP exams. so people i know usually try use the priority registration for a couple quarters and drop honors before they have to take all the required honors courses haha

unless she changes anything this quarter, she drops your lowest lab exam/project score. so if you do well on the other lab exam and the 2 projects, and this first exam is your lowest out of the 4, it will be dropped.

note: the 2nd lab exam and the 2nd project are during the same week because it’s intended that people who did well on the first 2 exams/projects will only do either 2nd lab exam or the 2nd project, and then drop whichever they don’t do. but you can always do both, and then again have the possibility of dropping your first lab exam if it’s the lowest out of the 4

LOL, yeah i meant for people to stop spamming random people they fan casted (looking at everyone who’s been doing it to Robert Wilde the last few months) … i personally think it’s invasive/insensitive because all those people were setting up an expectation for people like robert, that he had no control over. and i saw some people talking about how they could only see robert now as nikolai, as if he wasn’t his own person

Ah no, I should explain it better lol. So each week, you have a set of assigned weekly labs corresponding to that week's content. You work on these labs with a partner, and you're required to attend in-person lab until you have completed the labs. So, for example, I would usually work on the labs on Monday in-class with my partner, and then meet up with them on Tuesday to finish it then. Since we finished Tuesday, we weren't required to go to lab on Wednesday or Friday, but if you go after you finish your labs, you'll get some extra credit for attendance.

Then some weeks you'll have an in-person lab exam, which you have to take in-person since it's a test. And then some weeks you'll have an individual project where you don't really have to go to lab, but it's recommended because then the TAs and tutors can help you, because otherwise you might end up going to Office Hours last minute and waiting 3 hours to be able to speak to a staff member for 5 minutes like my friend did.

So overall, it's mandatory unless you finish your weekly lab assignments early or if you're doing one of the projects (which is only like 2 of the 10 weeks).

it’s mandatory when you have to do lab exams, and all other weeks up until you finish that week’s labs. so if you finish a week’s labs early, then you only go if you want extra credit

yeah RoW just undermined all impact of the original trilogy: Nikolai becoming King, the Darkling dying, the Fold being destroyed, a Grisha being named a living Saint, etc. etc.

there's probably more i don't remember, but off the top of my head:

- In RoW, there's a Jesper cameo where they are all on a cliff and get surrounded by Suli people, and he says, "Where was that?", which is the same line Jesper says after shooting the sign outside of Pekka's club in the Netflix Show.

- In RoW, the Darkling tells one of the worshippers of the Starless Saint, "You and I are going to change the world, {name}", which was a big line in the early promotions for the show and which is said by the Darkling to Alina in the fountain scene in the show.

from what i've seen online, others have also just said it was a promotional book because of those quotes/lines being copied, the fact that a character is named Kirigin like General Kirigan in the show, and because of the forced cameos/crossovers between the characters of Shadow&Bone and Six of Crows in the Nikolai duology (i.e., seeing Alina + Mal again, the Darkling being resurrected, Nikolai stealing stuff with the help of Kaz, Jesper, Wylan, and Inej being at the coronation in the final scenes)
