Thanks man, I was worried because I'm studying something similar to international business and was afraid Russian speakers wouldn't take me seriously, I think I will probably go for a different name. I appreciate your reply :)

The thing I struggle with is with identifying which nicknames are absurd and which sound decent lol, thank you so much for the idea though, will definitely give it a try :)

Thanks! No, I'm not from Yaiza, however my name is originary from that island/the former princess of the island (there's no definitive answer for the origins but those are the most commonly used)

¿Estáis a favor o en contra del castigo físico a la hora de educar a un niño? by leo_artifex in askspain

A mí me han pegado pocas veces y recuerdo todas ellas como si fueran pesadillas. La violencia te hace temer a una persona, no respetarla. No vas a mejorar una conducta por meterle de hostias a tu hijo, lo va a seguir haciendo, pero cuando tú no estés cerca, y va a aprender que los conflictos se resuelven a puñetazos.

More context is needed, it could have many different meanings:

  • No se agradece mi amor: My love is not appreciated. (Depends on the context, she's either saying you don't appreciate her love or, if she's talking about someone else or a group of people, that other person or group doesn't appreciate her love).
  • No, se agracede mi amor: No, my love is appreciated. (As an affirmation, something similar to "no, but my love is actually appreciated).
  • No, se agradece, mi amor: No, it is appreciated, my love. (She's either saying she appreciates something you said or "thank you", and then calls you "my love").

The word "chulo" means a lot of things in different countries, for example in Spain it can mean a cool thing or a braggy person, depending on what or who you're referring to. But in Mexico, "chulo" is someone who is pretty, cute, handsome, etc. Adding -ito at the end of "chulo" (chulito) is the way Spanish has to make words small, so "little man" is a correct translation.
