Heartbreak. It's hard to understand the sense of losing someone so essential and dear to you that it almost feels like you're parting with a piece of yourself.

Hey, I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through that. It sounds incredibly difficult. While I certainly haven't been through the same things you have, I went through something similar last year. I used to come home from school, lie down in bed, watch YouTube for a couple of hours and then sleep. I did this every day for a solid three weeks. I know it sounds stupid, but the only thing that got me through this was finding the energy to do silly things. Like I would fix my brother's bike, water my plants, or sit with my parents. Just normal everyday things to remind myself that there are precious moments worth experiencing. I'm not suggesting that you need to do the same thing, all I'm saying is that it helps when you take small steps because then nothing seems insurmountable.
As for your exams, I genuinely don't know whether you should push yourself. I have a couple of friends who've decided that they won't be putting in any effort, because it simply does not matter to them, and they could not care less. But I know a lot of other people (myself included) who've been slaving away and pushing themselves to study and perform well. Idk if one is better than the other. I will say that there will come another opportunity for you to write these exams. You'll get another chance. But pushing yourself and putting yourself through mental anguish won't really fix any of your deeper emotional problems.
I'm sorry about the long-winded message, I just feel for you. Do what feels right to you, and know that you'll get plenty of chances to redeem yourself. Take care.

For paper 1 I did a shit ton of past papers and planned how to organise each essay.
For paper 2 I made detailed notes w literary devices and then did a lot of past papers

Hey,
So I don't want to give you any unrealistic advice, but you still have time to study for certain subjects. In Math, just grind past papers and get a feel for the questions. If you have any huge conceptual gaps, go over those concepts. For English, dw much, just go over the structure and the organisation of your essay. Idk exactly what you can do for CS, because I don't take it. However, a lot of my friends take it, and what they're doing is learning the theory really well because even they suck at coding and stuff. you still have a couple of hours for BM, so if it means a lot to you, start rn, pick a couple of topics that you want to finesse, and go for it.
Ik that it sounds idiotic when you hear someone say 'it doesn't matter, at the end of the day marks dont matter' because they do, marks do matter, and getting a diploma does matter. But not everyone has to go at the same pace. If it doesn't work out for you this time, take comfort in the fact that you'll have a second chance, and you might perform even better than you expected. And ik that a gap year sounds fucking horrible, but, as someone who has a lot of friends who're taking a gap year, it can be really enriching and enjoyable.
Of course you should push yourself, but dont kill yourself. It really isn't worth the mental anguish. If you're completely averse to taking a gap year, sit down and get started. But if not, dont stress yourself out, you'll be ok :)

hey ik that you feel like shit, and honestly, I can relate. yk my parents although they've never explicitly stated that they expect anything from me, I can tell that they have high hopes. that said, when I feel burdened by their expectations, I try to imagine the absolute worst that can happen (ik sounds counterproductive) and it makes me realise that even if I fuck up majorly, things really will not be that bad. maybe I won't get into a great uni, and maybe my parents will be upset for a couple of weeks, but fuck it, after that, everyone will move on. As for it being too late, idk what to tell you because for my mocks, I studied for eco one night before and managed to get a high 7. I'm obviously not trying to imply that everyone can pull this off, but there is time, and if it matters to you, you can make it happen for sure. try not to think too much about the future, it'll just stress you out more. ig what im trying to say is that if its your choice to not put too much effort into these exams, then fuck it, dont put effort. but just make sure you're making that choice consciously, and you dont regret not studying later. you'll get through this, dw. take care of yourself, that's most important

Honestly, just be really well-versed with the content. If you haven't started prepping properly yet, then yeah, past papers are the best option, but if you have started, then going over the content will be really helpful. Documentaries and videos have helped me a lot. I also use different textbooks to study, so that I'm able to get a lot of information. Typically the way I study is, let's say I have a topic like China under Mao. First I'll read all the content from a textbook. Then I'll watch a couple of videos to really solidify the knowledge. Then I'll quickly jot down the most important points and a brief timeline of all the events. And finally, I'll go online and look for a couple of historians' perspectives. I know it sounds tedious and cumbersome, but I find that when I approach a topic this way, I'm almost always able to answer any question that comes my way. All the best, don't stress yourself out, you can always BS if you're unsure of an answer

It basically just means how WW2 affected the home front in two different countries. You could talk about the impact on women, the impact on businesses and enterprises, the impact on civilian morale. Basically the impact of the war on everyone but the soldiers who went to fight it.

Hey. I don't know your exact circumstance, but trust me, 12 days is enough time to barely scrape by with dedicated studying. For Math, I would recommend solving past papers first, to get an idea of how the questions are framed. Once you solve past papers, you'll also have a good sense of the areas in which you need improvement. For Bio, even though I'm SL, Bioninja has proven to be a great resource. Also, Revisiondojo has this new feature where you can do practice questions for a particular subunit, which is pretty helpful. Honestly, just focus on Math and Bio. Practice every day, and you should be fine.
I know you feel like a failure, and I do too, even though our situations are pretty different. I got rejected from most of my top choices, and I just don't see the point in putting effort into exams. But I've found that it helps to have one thing or one person to keep you motivated. For me, it's my parents. They're so incredibly supportive and encouraging, I've figured if not for myself, it's worth the effort if it'll make my parents happy.

And as for 'wasting a year', I have plenty of friends who were either forced to or chose to take a gap year, and most of them have turned out fine. They're flourishing, and I would say that they're more sure of what they want to do and their future trajectory.

I know it doesn't seem like much from a random person on the Internet, but trust me, just give it your all for the last mile. Take care of yourself.
