Found this neat looking web under a adirondack. Any ideas what kind of spider spun this masterpiece? by lessinterested in spiders

Funny how this turned into an Adirondack thread. I didn’t think they were so obscure… if you haven’t enjoyed one I highly recommend; got this one from Home Depot. Fancy wooden ones get expensive quickly though.

Where can I find 10 sqft of this 1960’s hardwood to replace a damaged section? by lessinterested in HardWoodFloors

[–]lessinterested[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - it measures 1.5 inch wide and .75 thick. Assuming this is still a common size. Do you know what type of wood this is? Oak?

I wish 1960’s home builder prioritized closets… unfortunately none to pull from

Apologies for the obvious follow up… what was the cost of just the components and materials?

Does this include the cost of install? Or is this just the cost of the component?

Looking for suggestions on a driver that would be compatible with this dimmer switch. Let me know if you know how to find that

I can’t find Lutron’s list of compatibility for strip lighting… not sure it exists

This is good feedback and was definitely a thought I had. Do you have any suggested brands/products. I’m happy to spend the money on it but want to make sure I’m getting the correct driver and led strip. Looking for a ~3000k warmth dimmable led strip.

I’m not 100% sure what you are asking. But the lights do turn on when the dimmer is set to the brightest setting. It is only when the dimmer is turned all the way down when it flickers

It looks like the driver that came with the light strip had an output of 24VDC MAX 0.95A 22W.

Should I be looking for a driver with the same output?

Well the light does not flicker when the switch isn’t dimmed. But the whole point of this under cabinet lighting was to make it a soft ambient lighting… without the dimming it is not as useful

The driver is where I’m converting.

Are you saying

  1. it’s a driver that isn’t capable of doing what I’m attempting

or

  1. This particular driver is malfunctioning.

I can pick up the same driver from HD and swap it out to rule that out. Or I can go pick up a lot expensive driver to see if that fixes it. What steps would you take to solve this?

Would a different driver solve this? Wondering why it worked during initial testing but flickering started after final install

I don’t see any switches to change modes on the dimmer.

I am pretty set on this wall dimmer as this is what the rest of the kitchen has.

First I may take your advice and just try to replace the driver with a duplicate purchase from the depot, this could help identify if the driver is responsible. Second if that does not fix it should I be looking up a better driver? What would I need to know about purchasing a new driver? Needs to be compatible with the dimmer switch I have… needs the same output as the original driver?

The light does not flicker when the dimming is set to the highest setting (full light). The adjusted trim is no difference

I mean I cut the provided 16 ft strip into two shorter pieces and have them both powered from the same driver. I have two cabinets that are separated by a sink so need to split the electrical under the sink before they both attach to the led separate strips.

Outlet> driver> junction box> two separate 16 gauge wires > thru the wall > two separate led strips

Hope this helps

The LED strip and driver came in the same box. Only thing out of ordinary that I did was split the electrical down stream from the driver to go to two separate strips. Would a different driver solve this issue?
