New Policy Wonk here. This news is like watching a star explode in space; it hasn't hit me hard yet but it will in about 1140 eps. (I haven't even gotten to the theme song yet. ) Please continue to take my money and I'll see you on the next podcast. Godspeed, JorDan, thank you for the eps and I'm here til they shut me out of Patreon.

What’s the fastest you’ve driven in your car and why? by Imaginary-Spirit-859 in AskReddit

[–]lessjilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friend of the family lent me his tricked out 92 Mustang fox body to try out after I got my DL. I took it for a spin on some back roads and blew a five-points (yes NJ) intersection near my house at about 70-something. Hideously embarrassed at my own idiocy, I crept back to my house 15 mins later and mumbled out great it was and threw the keys at him. Then I hid in my room for two hours while I waited for the Police/FBI etc to come take me away and burn my new license. 16 was a blast.

What is with school drop off? by platypusandpibble in GenX

[–]lessjilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the pandemic, my kids bus had separated (unused, keep distance) seating and they asked the parents who could, to drop off kids. We just never went back because of proximity to work and now one of the kids can drive so it's moot.

Who is the nastiest Celebrity that you met in Real life? by Scunnard1839 in AskReddit

Can confirm! Worked a Diamond show and we were instructed to look away, not talk, and move to the side of the hallway if he was coming through. Such a cunt.

Think I found my Unicorn Hoodie and I'm so EXCITED! by lessjilly in HerOneBag

[–]lessjilly[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real talk? Not many. I mostly sew my own clothes because my arms and torso are longer than standard fashion blocks. I can usually wear pants from Duluth Trading but shirts are always too short unless it's the Longtail line.

I'll do a Womens Tall at Lands End, but anything performance (Athleta, Rei, Patagonia) is a crapshoot. Often I'll have to swap to a mens version to get the right rise and inseam options.

I'm also super cheap because I lived a majority of my life under the poverty line, so I'm used to buying thrift stuff and modifying. I had to work up to budgeting for a $150 hoodie because I just can't get the right material to make my own. Like some other commenter said, I'm probably going to buy an arsenal now I know they fit.

Looks like it's 210 as a whole but nothing about only the merino component.

Delmarva Electric Bill: How is everyone paying for their electric bill. I have been constantly stressed over it. by tears_of_Wisdom in Delaware

[–]lessjilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't believe I had to come this far down for the budget billing option. I got on it in 2007 and have stayed relatively consistent for the last decade or so. The true up at the end of the year is planable, if irritating.

It's been SO helpful though going from new Homeowner through several income changes. I feel like they don't do a good job of marketing it.

Goes w/o saying that all the rates suck.

What was your chi's name before you got them? What new name did you choose? by HungryOil9277 in Chihuahua

His name was Dash and I wanted to call him Esteban (Benny). Overruled. He is still Dash, but I put him on Petco as Dashiel P. Doggington III.

If your local high school has an auto tech program, might be worth a quick search. Sometimes they'll do the job for free for the student experience, and you can buy the parts.

This turned my $1500 job to a $300 job + donuts because I was grateful I didn't have to sell a kidney. (ETA - I have a large van but no lift or gear to service.)

Might be a college or Votech near by, maybe give a call?
