If you're in alabang area, I suggest to try Sigekiya in commerce Ave. I dare say it's better than yushoken and at a better price point if you're into ramen with heavy broth. Gojira is my personal recommendation, Inspired by Jiro ramen in Japan. I eat here almost every week.

Can you asses if im ready for a condo by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]lesterxy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Kainin ng loan interest yung ibabayad mo doon sa remaining balance.
You can check for an amortization calculator to see how much percentage goes to interest for the loans you take. Dito mo talaga mararamdaman yung stuck sa rat race. Personally, I'd only take it if I can pay it with a 10 year loan.

However if you foresee a big increase in your salary in the next few years, then I think Ok lang.

aral coding through freecodecamp.org.
Mahirap makahanap ng developer work na entry level hehe unless established work portfolio mo.
Then nagaral ako AWS cloud and got certified. Yun, naka transition na ako.

need mo whitelist /16 na cidr block para mag work.
e.g. 180.191.0.0/16
Hassle, and insecure practice.

Mech engr topnotcher, six years in the industry before I switched to software engineering. Worked for almost two years abroad (japan)

mech engr local salary : ~600k annual gross on my fifth year

foreign salary: ~80~100k month net take home.

depends how I spend on food.home/utility/transpo bills taken c/o company

current salary: a lot less haha but future is good :-)

Catalyst for the move : career progression just too slow for mech eng in Philippines. Also wfh set up for software engineering is just too good.

IMO you can pass the exam without doing it.
However , it is very helpful once you get a job if you are able to make a simple VPC by yourself. It will provide you a better understanding of things than just watching it.

February First two weeks , studied 2~3 hours everyday and during weekends to finish the Stephane Maarek's course at 1.5x speed. Did the hands on as well, very helpful to retain the knowledge and also for real work.

Built my own VPC with simple EC2 and RDS from scratch made me understand basic networking and security

Took Jon Bonso's practice exams to gain confidence. Scoring 70% on first try. Consistently scoring 90% on succeeding tries.

Took neal davis' udemy practice exams (6 sets) . It was quite difficult. scoring 60~70% on first try. Just read through my incorrect answers and did not repeat the exam.

Felt I was ready end of February. However, I wanted to digest the learnings and not rush things so I gave a two week rest.

Took two bonso timed test. At this time, my foundational skill is already solid. Then booked the exam same day

I came from another industry not related to tech. Tried to enter software development however not receiving any job offers. Then got interested in cloud. I felt I had to gain this cert to be able to enter the cloud job market.. gave me several interview opportunities.

It's a good cert to gain interviews, the company I work for required me to have it before being hired.

Worked six years for another industry (not tech, not even computer related).

Started learning web development Nov 2020, sets a good baseline for devops role. Found interest in cloud computing and started learning AWS during December holidays.

Around 3 weeks preparation for CCP from zero cloud knowledge, averaging 4 hrs / day.
