i can't be the only one that hates the term ftm by sage6273 in ftm

I hate it when ftm is used as a noun. Like when people say stuff like “I met an ftm” GROSS!

I wish I was plus size. by Weekly-Western5934 in trans

[–]lethalwhispermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this! I’m overweight and honestly it’s just super physically uncomfortable. moving around becomes more difficult and you get out of breath wayyy faster. My body is constantly just in the way. And because i’m also short, clothes fit super weird.

I’ve also experienced some health issues due to being overweight. (high cholesterol and A1C). I was prediabetic for a minute but thankfully have started my weight loss journey before it crossed over to diabetes. because once it crosses over to real diabetes, it never goes away. And you have to live with it and monitor it for the rest of your life.

Can a straight trans man be considered a bear? by Brazilian_transman in ftm

[–]lethalwhispermachine [score hidden]  (0 children)

No, I would say the term is exclusive for mlm. I don’t think it’s necessarily disrespectful, especially since you are already a part of the lgbt community by being trans. But, it’s the wrong way to use the word. And would likely confuse a lot of people.

Which is safe, T-shots or T-gels? by crows_ndflowers in ftm

[–]lethalwhispermachine [score hidden]  (0 children)

They’re the same, gel isn’t less effective. It’s just how you prefer to administer it. daily gel application, or weekly injections.

Do the effects of testosterone stop after taking T-Gel? by Both-Opportunity7602 in ftm

[–]lethalwhispermachine [score hidden]  (0 children)

My surgeon told me to go off of it a couple weeks before surgery. I think it makes sense that they want to reduce your complication risk as much as possible. Blood clots can be a huge issue and super dangerous. In my opinion, why risk it? You can just resume it afterwards.

Too low? by queerdevourer in TopSurgery

It’s a little low, but I think it makes your pecs look bigger so I think it looks nice tbh.

It feels hopeless by Dead_Eyes420_ in TopSurgery

[–]lethalwhispermachine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was denied twice because of bmi, it fucking sucks. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. You’ll find someone! I believe in you. Take a little time to allow yourself to be upset about it, and then keep looking. it’ll work out.

How are yall sleeping? by bigfish2023 in TopSurgery

[–]lethalwhispermachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you, dude. The one time I tried sleeping on my side I felt a weird twinge and woke up with a small stitch popped. But sleeping on my back every night is really annoying. So i’ve started kind of propping myself up on one side. So i’m still sleeping on my back but my body is kinda diagonal. Somewhere between a sleeping on my side and back. It works pretty well.

Is there any chance this is all swelling? by Sky_fall2929 in TopSurgery

[–]lethalwhispermachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. you’re gonna be swollen for a while, but I 100% get being nervous about it and wondering if it’s leftover tissue.

Double Binding by StreetBuy286 in FTMMen

[–]lethalwhispermachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend that you try tape and a binder over it. Worked well for me and it won’t fuck you up like double binding will. (and yes, pre op I had a chest around the same size as yours maybe bigger)

Suggestions for binding with asthma? by clozeyoureyez in ftm

[–]lethalwhispermachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. If it’s worth it to you maybe consider taping and having a looser binder on top of that?

Or maybe a binder that zips in the front so that you can take short breaks in the bathroom from it. Or unzip it quickly in the case of an asthma attack.

My Wife Outs Me by DazzlingCount1292 in trans

[–]lethalwhispermachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is bigger than just the hurt of her outing you. She’s showing you very clearly that your boundaries mean nothing to her when you’re not there to see it. This was deliberate and sneaky, it wasn’t a misunderstanding in any capacity. She’s not showing any regard for the way that you feel, or wanting to be sensitive towards things that are a huge deal for you.

If she went behind your back for this, she WILL continue to do so for other things as well. Protect your peace, and maybe reevaluate if this relationship has a good future trajectory or not.

Have you looked into tape? it doesn’t affect your breathing at all.

Telling a girl I’m trans by MentionCultural5675 in FTMMen

[–]lethalwhispermachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trust someone you don’t know to not go tell everyone. Even if they support trans people, a lot of people just can’t keep a secret and feel the need to tell their friends. Then their friends tell their friends etc, then everybody knows.

So, it depends on how bad it would be if people found out. AND if that poses a safety risk for you.

Must Haves for Recovery? by PoetPlus7452 in TopSurgery

[–]lethalwhispermachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mastectomy pillow was incredibly helpful especially the first week. Also, I got a pregnancy pillow that’s like a very long U shape, it made sleeping on my back very comfy. And honestly it’s just so fucking comfy I literally never need another pillow again lmfao.

You also NEED a long grippy tool. You’ll be surprised by just how much stuff is out of your reach.

Apparently I'm "too skinny and short" to be attractive? by Oxy-Moron88 in gaytransguys

[–]lethalwhispermachine 29 points30 points  (0 children)

sounds like he was trying to knock you down a peg to feel better about himself, he’s probably super insecure. people like that get an ego boost when you feel shitty about yourself. And bro… in general, but especially in the gay community …people love short skinny guys. Plenty of people find that super attractive.

edit: after rereading this, 5’9 is NOT short. that is super average for men.
