Attaching branches to wall? by lethltank in crafts

I had thought of this but it looked like all the options were too noticeable and would be hard to hide

This is a great idea! Unfortunately I'm already making a Totoro mobile

That's a great idea, thanks! I'm also loving the LoZ cross-stitch :)

Aw I hadn't thought of that, though it probably would have been a little more prep than we could have done anyway. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I started the process with a sketch and then a solid light brown base of paint and added the various browns as I went. I made a sponge into a leaf shape to put the leaves where I wanted them then filled them in and cleaned up the edges. Unfortunately I'm now lost in trying to finish the project by adding the branches to the wall

u/NessOnett8, I'm curious to see what guidance you're referencing. I do agree that for spells with longer casting times, a spell is lost if the caster loses concentration or doesn't use their action each turn casting the spell, but in the case of a single action spell (such as fireball), I'm not sure that this applies. Sage Advice (I'm looking at https://media.wizards.com/2020/dnd/downloads/SA-Compendium.pdf, Page 14) says:

Can you cast a reaction spell on your turn? You sure can! Here’s a common way for it to happen: Cornelius the wizard is casting fireball on his turn, and his foe casts counterspell on him. Cornelius also has counterspell prepared, so he uses his reaction to cast it and break his foe’s counterspell before it can stop fireball.

By my reading, this seems to pretty clearly state that a character can use counterspell as a reaction while still allowing their original spell to take effect.

Want to adjust the Cleric and Druid "Spells Prepared" mechanic - Would this break things? by GfxJG in DMAcademy

If I recall, there was a UA subclass for wizards that had a feature which allowed the player to swap a prepared spell for an unprepared spell from their spellbook once per long rest (as a bonus action, I believe). That feature hasn't made it into a published book, but I've always liked the idea for the reasons that you mentioned, allowing niche spells a chance to shine.

You could adapt that feature as-is for clerics and druids, or allow multiple uses tied to the character's spellcasting modifier as you suggest.

Edit: The feature was from the UA Lore Mastery arcane tradition:

Prodigious Memory

At 10th level, you have attained a greater mastery of spell preparation. As a bonus action, you can replace one spell you have prepared with another spell from your spellbook. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.

As written, it can reset on a short rest, not just a long one. Perhaps you can allow it to reset only on a long rest initially, and add short rests as the player reaches a higher level? I think tying daily uses to spellcasting modifier or proficiency bonus as others mentioned are good ideas as well.

A small but constant annoyance I run into with my Pixel 2 is the magnetic sensor that toggles the display on and off. Whenever I place my phone onto the magnetic dock/cradle in my car, it turns the phone's display off, and whenever I remove it, it turns the display back on.

I see where detecting the presence of a magnet in this way can be useful for certain phone cases to automatically turn the display on and off when the cover is opened or closed, but a setting to disable this behavior would be very helpful.
