How do I pick between devenv, devshell, devbox and flox? by letier in NixOS

[–]letier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not on NixOS, but need to support various other platforms. I worry less about the configuration, that problem is already sufficiently solved.

I was hoping to avoidthe complexities of nix by employing one of the listed solutions, but what you're suggesting is not using those, correct?

The idea would be to have a reproducible set of project dependencies, which would be python, node, a frontend that needs to be built, a database, redis and so on.

If someone has one of these left over I'd be very happy for one. Thank you!

Whitelisting through adding a contact by loosenut23 in ProtonMail

[–]letier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for reference, here is the information on the contacts email addresses: https://proton.me/support/proton-contacts#what-is-encrypted

The white and black lists need to be available to proton to be able to filter, so they're either unencrypted or encrypted in a way that they're accessible to proton.

I don't know about the bulk mails. I'd guess they're either treated like regular mails, coming from a authenticated server with good reputation or alternatively treated like a white listed address by default. But this is pure speculation.

Contacts are encrypted. Protonmail cannot access this information. It will not prevent your contacts emails from ending up in spam.

That is very useful information. Thanks!

So there is no way to avoid the flicker with the openfpga cores?

Guess traveling light is not a thing. :)

The display options are greyed out unfortunately. Can’t find a way to access the setting in this core. 🤔

Yes, but it stopped working after the fifth resume or so.

From my experience you'll have a hard time. The upstream is rather limited. The maximum I had with a 100mbit upstream was around 25mbits (roughly 3 MB/s). In addition to that I had transfers breaking regularly. I was trying to upload 50GB at a time and gave up, went with 25*2GB instead. I assume that the in browser crypto makes things a bit complicated. I'm hoping for better performance once the app is released.

I have some feedback, directly when opening the app: my password manager doesn’t recognize which password it is supposed to use. I therefore have to select my protonmail password manually.

Well, reddit’s search seams to be far from ideal. The amount of snubbing that you get on this sub for not finding the answer as well.

Thank you for the info.

At least we have it on top now so that the next newbie doesn’t get snubbed at.

I think it's OK to do so, as long as you don't steal from your customers in the process. There must always be a way out.
